Cindita Banded on 7/09 - Best wishes
Cindita was operated on Monday, July 9th for her Lap Band. According to her husband, all went well and she was expected to be discharged from the hospital Tuesday afternoon. Let's all send her our best wishes for a great recovery, and the beginning of a wonderful new portion of this journey, we call LIFE!!!

Hello everyone!!!!!!!!!
Thank you for thinking of me and posting those nice messages!!!!!!
I am on my 3rd post op day, and I feel GREAT!!! I am so happy, I already feel thinner, LOL!!! I have no regrets and I can already feel that this was the best thing I could have done for myself!
As for your question about being nervous the night before... YES I was. The entire day seemed to drag on and on and on. By 3pm I was completely packed, and had done everything around the house I wanted to do.... I was completely bored!!! I looked at hubby and said, "What do I do now?" and he said, "RELAX!" but I couldn't... LOL! I had some anti anxiety medicine that helps me to sleep, so I took that in order to fall asleep, I am sure I would not have if I didn't have the medicine... so, if you think you might have the same problem, if you don't have a prescription for something, you might consider Nyquil or Tylenol PM or something.
My experience at the Elliot was nothing short of outstanding. All of the staff made me feel extremely comfortable, they were friendly, considerate of my needs and they really seemed to care. I couldn't be happier with the care I received there!
I think the worst part of the surgery was waking up in the recovery room, and even that wasn't too bad. I remember my eyes hurting me when I tried to open them... But I had little pain, and absolutely no nausea or vomiting.
I am still taking my liquid Roxicet, but mostly for sleep, I have some pain left in the area where my port was placed, but there is no pain around my incisions... That pain only lasted a day or two. The gas pain was the worst the first two days, but it was well controlled in the hospital. I never had it in my shoulder but I had it in the top of my abdomen and into my chest.
At home I am suppose to walk a lot, so I've been out and about in my neighboorhood. I even have a friend that is going to start coming over every night and walking with me. I'll be out of work for 3 weeks because I can't lift, but otherwise I can do things as tolerated.
It's funny but I feel like between eating my meals that I am suppose to, which right now is mostly jello, pudding, broth, juice, etc. and between trying to get in all my fluids, I feel like I am always eating or drinking, LOL!!!! And I am not even getting in everything I am suppose to.... LOL!
Well, I am here and would love to answer any more questions people have. Thanks again for all the support!
