No, not at all. I just went to my first seminar on Tuesday night at the Frank Jones Center. I have started to fill out the application but have left a few spots blank. I also realized I had to order a new insurance card so as I called the other day they are sending me a new one. When I called the lady did say the doctor has to called them...and I know what you mean. I definitley don't want to go through all this trouble, time and gas to only find out it won't be covered. But I am soo confused about the insurance part. I guess I could speak to my employer don't know how much good that would help me. My dad says I should just call my pcp and have her call Harvard Pilgrim. I don't have many comobidities but my BMI is over 40. The only other thing I am concered about is my age. I'm 22 so I don't know how they will see that. ....I will keep you in touch though. How far are you into the program?

Hi,          I went to my seminar in March at the Derry office, and have all my apptsthere except the meeting with the Dr Wagner, the Physch, he is in Porstmouth and does not take insurance. We have to submitt but he is not on Harvard P's list. So I don't know if I will get a refund. That was $165.  for his office visit then when you take his class it is another $250. You also have to pay the co pay for the nutrionist and PT. I have done all but the PT because of a prior PT issue and the insurance would not pay for two at once. So I see them next week. I also meet with Nancy for the third time next week. I just hope after all this I get an appt soon with the surgeon so they can submitt to HP for approval.  As for your age it should not be a problem. My niece was 23 when she had it done 6 years ago. She was heavy all her life. She is beautiful right now.  She has so much more confidence in her self and what she can do. She is the middle child and her two sister are thin and tall. It was always hard for her. I also have 2 sisters that had the bypass, one is looking awesome the other is toooooooo thin.  How far are you traveling for the meetings??  Keep in touch and let me know how things are going especially with the ins since we have the same.                               Linda

Hi Linda well it will be easy for me to keep in touch because I sit at a computer ALL day  with my work of course (like this job is helping my situation LOL) anyway I did email Nancy today cause I wasn't sure of what kinf of copy she needed with the application but I had found one on HP's website and sent it to her. She said to just print it out and she also said Harvard Pilgrim is no usually a problem for coverage. I have a good feeling everything should go well with the insurance part..but I guess we will have to see .  Tonight I just have to weigh myself. I've avoided the scale for soo long because I knew if I looked at the numbers I would have a breakdown or maybe as some say I'm just in denial. LOL. But either way I'm doing something now so that's the most important part. oh and yes I come all the way from Holderness!  It's almost a 2hr drive. Anywhere I go from here though takes a long time. Do you live very far away from derry or portsmouth?
