For Fun... Favorite Restuarants... (Last meal!)
Just wondering, I know that it's not really promoted, but most of us do it...........going to a favorite restuarant or place to have that one last meal from there that you can enjoy before your surgery... I personally had 6 places on my list, and I am curious to see where everyone else has, or had if you're post op, on their list...
Here's my list... And I've worked on it over the last 6 months or so, so I didn't do it all at once!
1. The Longhorn (Done)
2. The Medeavil Manor, Boston MA (going with co-workers on Thursday)
3. Shogun Japanese Steakhouse, Manchester (Done)
4. CC Tomatoes, Penacook
5. The Hilltop Steakhouse, Saugus MA
6. La Carretta Manchester/Derry (Done)
The good thing I have noticed, once I go in with my thought process of "this is the last meal I will eat entirely here" I no longer crave it, it's great!!!

I didn't really have a lot of "last meal" thoughts. However, I did have Don take me to 2 of our favorite restaurants in the Worcester area: The Sole Proprietor and Guiseppe's. I think i enjoyed the meal at Guiseppe's the best! I ordered the Seafood Portofina, which was all sorts of seafood steamed and served in a huge bowl with garlic & wine sauce, it was served over pasta, however, i did not eat the pasta (i was too full from the seafood!) Now that I am 6 weeks out, its strange to go out to eat, as I am not even able to finish an appetizer without being full (I have offically become a "cheap" date LOL)
I only had a few days between my approval and actual surgery. Good thing too or else I would have had a huge list. I saw her on a wed. and OR Tues. That friday we went to the crazy gringo in weirs beach for my last harah of mexican and draft beer. Sunday I had to have chinese, then that was it out of time, my doctor requires that you have clear liq the day before, I kinda cheated on that (shhh) mine was like clear liq after noon, my surgery wasnt until 1230 so it made sense to me, one last DD coffee and bagel sandwich.
Today i am down 5.5 pounds only 6 days post op, I am going to be under 200 sooner than I ever expected. Hang in there and have one for me!

Congrats Joanne! And welcome to the Loser's Bench!! It's definitely exciting when you see the weight practically melting off of you! I returned to work last week and am finding that all of my clothes are too big! I put on a suit this morning, and I swear the pants look like i have a costume from Barnum & Bailey's clowns on !!! I am hoping to be under 200 by the time i go on vacation in August (not sure if i am going to Vegas or Florida, but will enjoy either place!)
I did not do that a lot but then again..we eat out quite a bit so I didn't really think of it that way..just more of "doing what I do". I will say though, we still go out but of course what I order has changed tremendously.
The things that are out of my life now that I kind of wish I had had one more time is Chinese food ****hinese dishes like seafood are ok but I am not a fan of MSG but I LOVED the bad stuff like egg rolls and LoMein. A NO CAN DO NOW!), and sub sandwiches. I miss the Friday night of just having a sub or pizza or something "take out" and easy. It is my one night of the week we always do takeout instead of cooking. Oh I can do it now but I get salad with chicken. (hmm not the same but I will get used to it) Bread and doughy things are not Friends of the Band!
Having said that..I know that I should not have these things anyway. Bread, pizza, subs, burgers...all of that would just keep me stuck in this life of obesity and I am DONE with it. ;-)
