New to the NH Board
I saw comments that it was too QUIET on here - so I thought I would jump in. I am recently post-op. Surgery was on Tuesday, came home yesterday afternoon. I am glad to be home but I miss my "nurse call" button! I loved pushing that and asking for whatever I wanted!
I saw a few folks who have dates coming up - BEST OF LUCK! I expected to be terrified but was remarkably calm. My only really difficult part was the day after surgery I was dizzy & nauseaus. Damn morphine. I opted to stop the pain meds and eventually it went away. Pain I can deal with, nausea I cannot.
Anyway, I'll try to stay in the loop here - Jane
Hello Jane, Welcome to the NH board! I am happy to hear that your surgery went well.
on the nurse call button!! I've already told the BF and DS that they best be prepared to wait on me hand and foot I know what you mean about the side effects of morphine. I usually tell them to stop the morphine very quickly, as i tend to hallucinate from it.
I am starting to get nervous about next Monday's surgery. Poor BF, asked last week when we were out to dinner, if i was getting nervous.. i burst into tears!!
I am sure that Sunday I will be a ball of nerves, but am going to try to keep busy (still cleaning out the winter clothes, as I won't be wearing them next winter!!)
Take care, and keep us informed of your progress.
Tammy
Welcome Jane,
I am glad your surgery went well for you. You are going to feel sooo good come summer. Make sure you get lots of rest and try to push the fluids. I to was pushing my button a lot only to figure out it was not the button attached to my nighty. That was the med button. No wonder the nurses never came when I called. DUH !!
Keep us posted. Roxanne
Hi Jane congrats on the surgery. I am just 2 weeks out of surgery as of today. So I finally get to have some food this morning.
My stay at the hospital was great. Only pain I really had was my back and one bout of nasuea .. Other then that everything went fine and still is going great. I just find myself a getting tired real fast.
So how's things going for you? Well again best of luck with this new way of life. Take care
Deb
