Hi All, Is there anyone out there that went to Portsmouth?? I sent my paperwork in more than two weeks ago and have heard nothing. I know that they have recieved my paperwork since my PC's office has been in touch with them. How long does it take for them to contact you and set an appointment. I want to get this started. My knees are in the worst shape they have ever been in. I am so afraid if I can't get this weight off for keeps I will end up with surgery on them. Linda

Hi Linda, I started the program in Portsmouth in November 2006. Why not contact Nancy Seesman, ARNP at 603-334-2006 to make sure they have not misplaced your paperwork and ask her when you can go in for a consult. It took about a month before I got an appointment after my paperwork was sent in and I contacted Nancy a few times, playing telephone tag too. I am 4 months into the program and going to get to see the surgeon next week. I have Dr. Looser. I have completed all the necessary meetings and pre-op testing. I still need to lose 6 more lbs. Losing the 10% is harder than you can imagine. Good Luck Linda Fortin, Newton NH

Hi Linda, Well first off Good Luck. Like the other Linda posted call Nancy Seesman. Someone told me they called and found out their application got stuck to someone elses. Some advice , I would wait until Nancy sees you and weighs you in because you will have to lose 10% of your excess weight from what she weighs you in at. I lost a few before but she didn't count that. Also you will have to see Dr. Jeff Wagner for a Psychological Evaluation ( 1 hour) then you will be required to get in on a 5 week ( 1 night week ) classes. It is time consuming but well worth it. I had Dr. Gens and was very pleasedwith him. All the Drs. are good. We just had support goup last Monday night. they are the 4th Monday of every month at 6:30. They are very helpful. Okay I have probably written to much. Any more questions feel free to contact me. Roxanne

Thank You Linda and Roxanne. You were both very helpful. Roxanne I read your bio the other day. Way to go. I also noticed you are a pool player. I live with a pool fanatic. The other skinny woman in his life is his pool cue. LOL. I wish you both the best and maybe will run into you both some day. Linda

Hi there. I would definitely call Nancy. My application was the one that got stuck to somebody else's! It is a lengthy process but worth it in every way. They do their best to make sure you are totally ready for surgery. I had Dr. Looser. He is a great surgeon.

Well it is happening. I met with Nancy yesterday and all went well. I have a eval appt on the 17th with Dr Wagner and nutrionist the next day. I can't go to the Monday night support meetings till June (in Derry) I work Monday nights with adults w/ disabilities and May is our last month till Sept. I will see Nancy again in May. I feel like my life is turning around. And not to soon. I took a fall on the stairs last weeks and hyper extended my right foot backwards and I have been in an air cast for 10 days and My knees are killing me. I have to loose ten lbs. Not to much trouble except we are heading to Florida the end of the month for 9 days. I dread it but am looking forward to the warmer weather. Linda
