Well, I have gone through all the millions of steps that are required for the surgery and yesterday met with Dr. Looser. I weighed in at EXACTLY what I was suppose to to meet the required 10% EBW loss. I was thrilled about that since I had a few set backs over the holidays and then a killer bout of PMS. Anyway, he seemed very nice and real. We went over the same things they talk about with you like a million times and he said that I may only need to be in the hospital for about 2-3 days, probably 2 with no complications. Now what they need to do is take all the paperwork, put it together and send it over to Harvard Pilgrim. He says HP is pretty good about quick turnaround times and we should hear within 2 weeks, maybe a bit longer. And IF we get an approval than my date can be set for within a week or two of that time. I am tottally pumped about that, so anywhere between 3-6 weeks left to go. I hate this part the most, the not knowing of what the next step will be, surgery or appeal if I am denied. I just want to get in there and get this journey started! Anyone have any expereince with Atlantic Surgical and Harvard P? Anyone know how i can stop myself from going crazy in the next month?

Hello Heidi Congratulations on almost the end of the journey, I had Dr. Looser and he is very good. I had the Lapband, I assume going by what your hospital stay might be that you are having the gastric bypass. Best of luck with your insurance approval, I was so nervous waiting on mine. funny you said you were exactly where you had to be to lose your 10% because I was too, exactly. Was hard going through the holidays also. Keep in touch, Oh I had my lapband Dec.29th. And am doing pretty good, Dr. repaired a hernia while i was in surgery, which I didn't know he was going to do. And Portsmouth Hospital was really great, I was very pleased with everything. Take care. Donna I live in New Durham NH [email protected]

Hi - I have Anthem, but Atlantic Surgical was great and things went quickly. I don't remember the timing of when they submitted and when I heard, but it felt fast at the time! Good luck - Becky
