Hey, let's get to know each other!
Hi, I am new to this board and would like to get to know you guys. Where in NH are you from? Are you pre-op or post? Which surgery have you had or going to have? What are some of the victories that you have had since your surgery. What do you hope to get out of this surgery? I am hoping to get you lurkers to come out of hiding so we can get to know each other and support one another. I will start...
I live in Derry, NH 25 years now
I am post-op had surgery in January 06
I had the lap-band
Victories are many...I can do so much more now. I have gone from a snug size 24-26 stretch, elastic waist ugly old lady pants to a very comfortable no stretch, zip up size 14!! This morning I got into a size 12 (still snug so won't be wearing them out in public quite yet) lined dress slacks!!!!!!!!! I can keep up with my 3 year old grandson! I fit into a booth, tie my shoes, cross my legs and I could go on and on.
I am hoping to get to my goal of 130 and I think I can make it! I still have a ways to go, but I am making progress consistantly. I am so glad that I had this surgery, it gave me back my life! Now how about you? Don't be shy, we are here to support each other.
Linda
Hello
I would like to get to know people from these boards also. I am scheduled for Lapband Surgery the 29th of this month. I am at the wt. I have to be. I have pre op at Portsmouth Hosp. tomorrow. Do you remember what they had to do for post op. I am so afraid of getting on those scales. my worse enemy right now. I am having Dr. Looser for a surgeon. Did you have your surgery in Portsmouth. It has been a long time coming but is almost here. I am excited and anxious for the day. I have to survive Christmas. that will be a challenge. but I think I can make it. And pre op suggestions for me..please email me at [email protected] in New Durham NH
Hi Linda. I think the board goes through ebbs and flows as people get their surgeries and move on with life as thinner, healthier people. I remember when I first started coming to this site, the NH board was quite vocal.....then became pretty quiet. Glad to see things becoming active again.
I had Lap RNY surgery on 4/4/06 and have lost a total of 94 pounds! I wear a comfortable size 12 (down from my all-time high of 246 wearing 1X and 18/20). I am 12 pounds away from my goal of 140 (I'm 5'6" tall). Things are moving slowly now, but that is to be expected. I feel great and have had no complications whatsoever. Best decision I ever made for myself.
I live in central NH and had my surgery with Dr. Campbell at CMC. I love animals (one golden retriever and one Main coon cat) and love RV camping. Nice to meet ya!
Warm regards, Bonnie
Hi - I'm in Portsmouth, and my RNY surgery is on Wednesday 12/6!! I feel quite ready - I'm surrounded with alot of support and good wishes, so that helps!! My goal is to be healthier. I've never been too focused on the numbers, but would like to get to 140-ish. I just want to be able to hike Mt. Monadnock again, then aim for Mt. Washington!!
Havent been on the NH board for a while - just generally go to the lapband. I had lap band in June of 06. Not quite 6 months and have lost almost 50 pounds. I am obviously feeling much better and can do the things I used to do. I have been in NH my whole life. My goal is 140's and should be there by next summer - I can wear shorts without embarrasment. I have Dr. Connie Campbell *****ally likes the exercise thing and I am trying to improve that for continues weight loss and maintenance. I'm certainly not to the point of loving it but always feel better after. I am very glad I did this and would do it again in a heartbeat.
