hey Jen, Worked on Saturday.. woke up in the middle of nite. doing laundry. I am going to monday's meeting. So, Maybe I will see u there. that would be nice. i'll probably be by myself. i have short blond hair. it's funny. i haven' had vacation in maybe 6 yrs. so, we decided to do a 2 wk vacation, my friends. so, now I am trying to figure out when the surgery may work into this. We are going around the time I may be booked for surgery. so, i don't want to do it right b4. we are looking at vegas for a wk. staying with my friends family for 5 days. I don't want to pass up an awesome trip. my appt with my primary is the beginning of feb. for a physical. I still have to meet with dr. campbell. plus have the time to use to take for work. the vacation will burn 10 days. I have 8 to start in Jan. then u accrew during the year. 2 days a month. so, by the end of march it will be 6 more days. then I will need another 5 days for the surgery. I don't want to do it back to back from the trip. because the trip is going to be a lot. I think we r booking from 3-3 to the 3-17. I booked my psych evaluation in January with my ekg. I'm kind of thinking sometime the beginning of April. but, I have to see when she will want to book me. I am looking forward to the break from work. Yeah!!! good things are coming ...!!!! hope to meet u soon ... Minnie they call me minnie at work.

Lisa or should I say Minnie! Congrats on moving along nicely in the process and for arranging a vacation after 6 years... wow! I have run into a big hurdle. My insurance company will not cover the surgery. It is an exclusion in my policy. I'm really upset over it. My employer has been great and we our going to explore some options during renewal in order to get it covered, but that won't be until 8/1/06. So I have a definite "no" now and a "maybe" in 8 months. But since the preparation for the lap band is about 6 mos. I'm just gonna tread along steadily and if all goes ok...... I'm still hoping to have it done. I've decided not to attend tonights meeting.... but I've promised myself I'm going to the next one. So if anyone knows when the next support meeting is, please let me know. Jen

Hi Everyone. I had Dr. Campbell at the CMC in June of 06. She is really wonderful. She does tell you like it is and is VERY serious about exercise after. The surgery was a breeze, done in an hour, in recovery and out the door at home in about 6. I have had 3 fills so far with her. I am almost 6 months post op and have lost 42 as of 5 weeks ago. I do not have a scale at home so I only get weighed with her and the nutritionist. I have bought myself a "50 pound" necklace and am hopeful that I will be wearing it proudly before Christmas. I have a fill next week and hoping to be within 2-4 pounds (not likely to see all 50 but boy would that be nice!!) I have had absolutely no problems so far and can eat just about everything in small quantities. I do stay away from breads, rices, etc but did beforehand too. I have plenty of energy and wouldn't even know I have had any surgery. I had a low BMI to start with, just 40 which I had to gain 2 pounds to ensure the insurance would pay for it. Would do this all over again and am looking forward to another 40 pounds to lose.

Hey jen, What do u do for exercise? I am friendly with someone who lives in your area. There aren't too many gyms up there. everything is a drive. I am excited to take the plunge. I know it is a slower loss, but, safer. Minnie

Hi Minnie, My exercise consists of walking either on my treadmill or in my neighborhood. Your right there aren't any gyms that I'm aware of locally. I am so frustrated with this insurance issue. I hate having to wait until next July/Aug to see if I can have the operation or not. Jen
