Lap Band at CMC with Dr. Campbell

Hi, This is my first post. I am at the beginning stages of the lap band process. Is there anyone that has experience with CMC and Dr. Campbell. I am really nervous about it, but I know it will be good for me in the long run. Jen

Hi Jen, I am in the same boat. I have lost my weight. I am going thru cmc also. Have u seen the nurse or dr. yet? I have seen the nurse, dr. and nutritionist. I have to do 1 more meeting. They recommended the banding to me. I have a 39 bmi with diabetes. r u going to the monday meeting on the 11th? Let me know what u think. I am nervous too. but, it would be good to get to know people going thru it also. Minnie from Kingston NH

Hi Minnie, Your not too far from me. I live in Raymond. We have some similar statistics - my bmi is 39 and I have diabetes too. Unfortunately I also have PCOS. I haven't seen the nurse yet. I was just referred to Dr. Campbell by my PCP last week. I am attending the 12/4 seminar @ CMC. How long have you been in this process? I have heard it can take quite some time. What meeting is on the 11th? Jen

I am going thru the process at CMC. Everything is done and I am waiting for my appointment with Dr Campbell. You have NO worries with CMC and Dr Campbell. I work @ CMC in the OR and wouldn't go anywhere else. You couldn't be in any better hands with Dr Campbell. Kathy

Yeah, cool. thx for that. I haven't heard too much on her. I have heard great things on the hospital. makes me feel better.

Kathy, You make me feel so much better, especially coming from someone who works there and recommends Dr. Campbell. I would love to hear updates on your progress as you go thru this progress. Jen

Hi jen! I am brand new at this too!!! I just had my nurse meeting yesterday-- I have my nutritionist meeting on dec 18th and then dr finichiaro on dec 28th-- my bmi is 46 I have to loose 12 lbs pre -op I plan to go to the dec 11th support group meeting I live in nashua I have heard wonderful things about dr campbell!! Yeah!!! welcome aboard. i still have a few meetings and my ekg to do. then to meet with dr. campbell. i have my weight goal... it is nerve racking about keeping it. yeah!!!!

Jen, You are in good hands. I had gastric bypass RNY done by Dr. Campbell and she is great and I cannot say enough good things about CMC. Dr. Campbell is conscientious, knowledgeable and competetant. She is serious and will "tell-it-like-it-is". I would go back to her for any other surgeries I needed without hesitation. Good luck on your lap band!
