Going through the program at DMHC @Manchester with Dr. Gould. Done everything I needed to. Started the program in May and did everything had my appt with Linda and saw Susan Oct. 2. Had the appt with Dr. Gould on Nov 29th but they called me last week and told me he had surgery that day so I had to have my appt moved to Dec.14th..... I did go to the monthly meeting Friday and down a few more pounds...Just want to get my surgery date...feel like Im just standing still waiting for this new part of my life to start. Not looking forward to the holiday's. My family centers everything around eating. Well I guess on the up side the new year will hopefully start with my surgery a week or so in. Keep you updated.

Carolyn - I found this to be possibly the hardest time to get through.....waiting for that surgery date. You're in a kind of limbo because you have met all the requirements, but can't get a surgery date until you see the surgeon. I know how you feel and sympathize. I wish I could offer you some really great words of wisdom, but unfortunately, there isn't much that can be done except to make the best use of your time as you can. If you haven't already done so, try to establish an exercise routine and stick with it throughout the holidays. Begin sorting your clothes by size (I had so much sorting to do post-op that I wish I had begun BEFORE surgery) so that as you drop the weight after surgery you'll have an idea of what you have and what you need. This surgery will happen for you......just try to be patient and keep smiling. Warm regards, Bonnie

Wow you are already down 18lbs, that is awesome. I was just told about a week ago that I will need to lose 13 lbs as my EBW requirement. I am hoping to get my appointment with the surgeon sometime next month so maybe I will be looking at a January surgery date as well. Sounds like you are doing great so far. I have had a tough time getting started with my required WL.

Congrats on the weight loss ! I too was at Friday's meeting at DHMC (Manchester). I am a bit frustrated with the staff there at the moment. I found out that the one thing they failed to tell anyone is that if you are a patient at the Concord office of Dartmouth-Hitch**** that they CANNOT get your medical records for you, that you have to get them yourself--so more than a month has been wasted that I could have sent them my records! The holidays are going to be hard for me too, as I have lost 8 of the 10 pounds but those last 2 pounds are being stubborn and my family is also food oriented. They are not aware of my choice to go thru with WLS yet (my son and BF know). it should make for "interesting" conversation I hope that all goes well with your appt with Dr. Gould!

Thanks for the kind words. I can understand your frustration. This program is very much left up to you. I was taken back by that when I started. As well as the fact that there is only one surgeon. SO very gald that my date with the doctor is almost here. Im finding that by drinking a protien drink for a meal and by eating smaller amounts the wieght is slowly coming off. As long as I stay under the 10lbs I will be happy. You will get the pounds off. Good luck
