Please help, Portsmouth/Parkland People
Hello, I am going through my WLS program through Parkland and the procedure at portsmouth. The surgeons from this program are from Atlantic surgical. There are three, one is Dr. Loosen, a Dr. Paciulli, and then someone else I can't remember. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone had an opinion on which of three was best? Any experiences to share, good or bad? I guess I can choose but I don't have much to base my opinion on, they all seem competant and qualified. Please help!
Hi - My surgery is on Dec. 6 at Portsmouth and my surgeon is Dr. Paciulli. I initially chose her because a friend of mine had her for her surgery about 2 1/2 years ago and highly recommended her. In my initial appt. with her I was convinced that it was a good match for me too. She answered all our questions, was direct re: risks and the benefits and she was compassionate. I haven't had any direct contact with Dr. Looser or Dr. Ganz (sp?), but they seem to know what they're doing. Hope your process goes well!
I am doing the program in Portsmouth too. I have seen all three surgeons at the support group meetings at PRH. I haven't decided which surgeon I want yet but am leaning towards Gens or Pacuilli... though you will get two of the three during your surgery anyways (it takes two to do it laproscopy according to J Wagner.)
They are all great and very qualified it sounds like you want to have the surgery asap then you should use the Dr. that is able to do it asap vacations, seminars etc. takes them away from their practice. I used Dr. Looser and he is great I call him the Joe Friday of Bariatic surgery but he is very good and nice.
