Manchester Programs
Hi everyone! I am just starting the process of having WLS. So far I am leaning toward the lap band, and I have not made up my mind about what hospital to use. During the next 2 weeks I am going to meetings at both CMC and DHMC-Manch to learn about their programs. Has anyone else compared the two, and if so what made you choose one over the other.
I am also open to looking at other programs in NH or even MA if anyone has and glowing reccomendations....
Cindy
Hi Cindy,
I to am in the process of making decisions and have appointments at both places but I could not get into CM****il December. Which already makes me anxious. I would love to hear what you think. At first I couldn't find anything in New Hampshire and people kept referring me to places in Mass. I'm glad I found this site. My PCP is against surgeries and has prescribed meds, excerise ect. Needless to say FIT at 40 is not happening. I'm so anxious to get started.
Good Luck,
Caroline
hi Cindy
I had bypass the same day as her at the same hospital and have no regrets at all!
Lowell General has a great program one where you go to a central location for all your appointments (psych, nurse, nutritionist, etc). The people are great, the program is stable (been there for years, no plans to disappear), lots of support groups and people on hand if you need or want it.
Hi,
I am in process also. I had my first appt with cmc. but, didn't know dartmouth had a program. Is that with dr. gould. I didn't go with him. He only did the full open when I looked at him. cmc is hiring a new nurse for the program. I told them that at the meeting. They aren't so quick to reply. but, they do have a new director. I would like to hear from people that have done the cmc.
Keep plugging.
