Hey everyone! Who is left out there, of our old group? I was thinking a lot of you all lately and was thinking we should get together for our own meeting somewhere. I knowwe don't have access to the facility at SNHMC but we could think of something else. I am dying to see everyone and see how you all are doing! E-mail me and let me know if there is any interest in getting togeher. Miss you all and hope you are doing well! I am still maintaining at 120 lbs, give or take a few lbs either way. I am really happy and am doing well. A few medical issues but I consider myself fortunate compared to those who have had such challenging complications. Please write back and let me know if there is any interest. I really want to see everyone! Hugs to you all, Denise highest/day of surgery/goal/current 268268/232/128/120 8 lbs below my original goal!

hey Denise! I am still out here and doing ok myself. I would definately like to get together too, but it seems as though no one is really out there anymore! I need some support, as I am a year out now and am able to tolerate lots more things (not sure I like that part!) Anyways, I am here! email me if you want =) Angela

Hi Angela! Sorry it took so long for me to write back. It has been so crazy in my life. We moved on 11/1 and packing everything and trying to settle in has been insane! I just got my computer back up and running! Anyway, my e-mail is [email protected] Maybe we can get a few people together. I am still in touch with Melissa (do you remember her?) and she talks to another girl from Dr. D's group. Maybe we can branch out that way and get a good group together? So glad to hear from you and you look awesome! I know what you mean about being able to tolerate more things....Lord, that petrified me when I realized this, too. My motto is anything in moderation...but if there is a certain food that is a triiger, avoid it! This has worked for me and I have maintained my goal weight for awhile now! Hugs, Denise

OMG! You look awsome! I havent been doing that great. I started eating wrong again and I cant seem to shake it. I haven't lost any more weight in over a year now. I am stuck and afraid of gaining it back. I guess I need help. Also it hurts after I eat. This started just recently. I have a call into Dr Jiser in Lowell, hopefully I can get in. If not I will prob see Dr Gould in Manchester. I have been avoiding this forum. I am ashamed of the path I have fallen in. I havent talked to anyone about my surgery in a long time. I was looking fro Dr Jiser's number and Figured I should get back on track, and lo and behold a meeage about Dr D's patients. I am willing to meet for support Let me know where and when and I will show. Chris

(((CHRIS))) Sweetie! How are you??? I am so happy to hear from you! I am so sorry that you have been struggling. If you want, e-mail me at [email protected] and we can exchange numbers. If anything, I can be a support system for you. Please don't be ashamed of yourself. You are battling a hard battle. Just because we had surgery doesn't mean we are going to conquerthe weight problem....it is a work in progress. One thing I can promise you though....if you decide "this is it!" and stick to a reasonable plan, you will lose! I absolutely promise you. It does take will power and dedication but it is possible! I had gained to 132 lbs which I know isn't a lot, but for my height, I wasn't comfortable. I decided to cut back my grazing and bam...the weight came off again. I admit I have been pretty fortunate, as I have not struggled as much as some with losing and maintaining, but I did experience some gain and was able to get it under control. And you can, too. The cool thing is, this tool that we were given is always there. It is how we choose to use it that makes the difference. I am far from perfect, believe me. I have things I probably shouldn't have, but I believe in everything in moderation...and I have done pretty well. Let's chat and see if we can come up with a plan to get you back on track, girl! I swear to you, it is possible and you can do it! Get in touch! By the way, I am also trying to figure out which surgeon to contact for my follow up. I haven't met with anyone since Dr. D left and I know I should. I need to keep on top of my labs...I am pretty tired a lot and I am still battling intense pain from my ulcers. OUCH....Still taking Prevacid which helps but the pain is bad at times. Hugs, Denise

Hi Karen! So glad you posted! I am so excited that you are interested in joining us! Of course you are welcome! WOOHOO! As far as a place to meet, my place is an option, or we could meet at a restaurant? I am open for ideas. Also, when do you all think would be a good time? A Saturday night? Or a week day night? I'm game...so let the ideas fly! I look forward to meeting you, Karen. Hugs, Denise

Hi! I would love it too! I saw Susan in August and she told me they were going to start the group up again at SNMC (for the post ops), but then I never heard anything about it again. I just came on tonight to see if anyone had any plastic surgery recomendations and saw this post! I have not lost anything since June, but still want to lose 20 pounds more. I can eat more than before, that is for sure! I am just trying to make good choices, I was snacking with the kids too much for a while (goldfish crackers and things like that) and have tried to stop at least doing that! Would it be bad if we met for dinner somewhere? The Common Man in Merrimack NH (it is right off exit 11) has a great upstairs part, it is really casual, with couches and things like that and you can get a drink and eat too. i always get a crab cake appitizer that is jut one crab cake for $5.99, so it is pretty reasonable. Anyway, i am babbling, but it is an idea!
