Hi Susan, After trying to jump thru the hoops at a local hospital, I decided to go to Boston. I chose the Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston, specifically Dr. David B. Lautz who is director of their bariatric program. I had my lapband surgery on June 7, 2006 and had no problems whatsoever. I chose him for his extensive experience with lap surgery on obese people. He is a wonderful doctor, soft spoken and very caring. I know someone from your area who is using him also, her surgery is next week, her sister is also using him. They have an excellent program with support groups, nutritionists and everything you need. You will get a surgery date at your first consult with him. Please check out their program. If you have any questions, e-mail me. Valerie P.S. It is a 1 1/2 hour drive for me but I feel it is well worth the trip.

Hi Susan, I live outside of Keene and I too struggled to find a facility that was reasonably close, yet provided all the services that I need to be successful in my weight loss journey. I have chosen the Bay State Medical Center's Bariatric surgery program. They have five surgeons (two practices) that actually perform the surgery. I'm working with the BayState surgical associates. Dr. Coe learned the procedure from the surgeon who perfected it many years ago. I found the staff very accomodating, kind and eager to help me succeed. I wish you much success in your weight loss quest. Lisa
