Hi...I attended my first pre-op information session at PRH last night. Are there any others on the site who are going to them also? I would like to check progress w/ others in NH.

Tell me how it was, because I couldn't get them to call me back with any info...so I hope that info meeting wasn't the last one this month. I'd like to go with something closer that Brigham & womens, but no one will ever return my calls.

Hi, I don't know anything about PRH, but I can really praise the procedure done through Dartmouth Hitch**** Clinic in Manchester. There is an informational meeting monthly at 2PM every second Friday of the month. Here is the URL address so you can check them out yourself: http://www.dartmouth-hitch****org/manchester/webpage.cfm?site_id=12&org_id=688&gsec_id=0&sec_id=0&item_id=37529. Hope this might help. Have a great day - Trudi (BTW, I had my surgery through them 3 days ago!)

Hi, Christine... I did a lot of research before selecting who to work w/ on getting the Lap-Band. I went to one of the PRH Bariactric information meetings and liked what I heard. It is a joint effort with the bariatric coordingator, physicians, surgeons, dietititions, psychologist and physical therapist. They give a wealth of information to help you along the way and offer information and support groups. Being a self-pay, I seriously thought about going to Mexico to have the surgury, but realized that I need the entire support, including the after support to make it work. They hold information meetings in Portsmouth about a block from the hospital. I the next one is: "September 13th-6:30 - 8:00 PM Frank Jones Center, 400 Route 1 Bypass, Portsmouth Take I-95 to Exit 5, or Route-16 (Spaulding Tpk.) to the Portsmouth Circle (State Liquor Store exit), then Route-1 By-Pass south, 1/4 mile, then left at the 2nd light (between Cadillac & U-Haul). At STOP sign bear right. Frank Jones Center is directly ahead. Seating is limited for seminars. Please pre-register before the seminar date by calling: 603-334-2005" Here is their website http://www.portsmouthhospital.com/CustomPage.asp?guidCustomContentID={D3D28BFB-4FD8-45C3-A96A-2074E862DA4E} I, for one, think the program is great and worth looking into. Best wishes... Taylor

Hi - I attended the public info session last April and then again last month and had my first meeting with the coordinator just over a week ago. It seems like a great program and have been impressed with those I've met so far and with the timely responses, etc. I have my first psych and physical therapy appts this week and my nutrition next week. I have a friend who had her surgery at PRH 2 years ago and she had a great experience. I'll bet we'll see each other around!

Hello TJ, I had my RNY at Portsmouth, I am almost 8 months out and I am down 122 ish pounds. I did not have a good experience at the hospital post op, but everything else was fine. At this point I do not attend any of the support meetings, I find that it is the same ol same ol at all the meetings, I did go in the begining, it took me 1 year to get my insurance to approve. My doc was dr Pacuilli......not sure if I spelled that right. If I can answer any other questions, feel free to e mail. Take care, Good Luck Jane

I had my surgury at Portsmourh Regional Hosp. and Had the best surgeon. Dr Kevin Looser was wonderful with the before and after . Love Nancy Seisman the bariatric coordinator at the hospital. you can call her to find things out. she has her own office at the hospital and returns all calls. loved the before care and the after care. the hospital experience was not the best and in no way should reflect on the Dr. care. When i went in March the hospital was undergoing construction on my floor and it made the nurses short, and messing up on things. But I had an angel of a nurse aid called Amy, i will never forget her caring and geltleness. my surgury was march 6 of this year and I am down 107# I thank them for giving me my life back. and yes they have a totally awsome program. I came down from Augusta , Maine because after looking at many hospitals , I found this complete program the best.
