Hello...I've been reading this site for a bit and have decided to plunge in. I have recently returned to NH, Manchester area, and am just starting the process for WLS, most likely Lap-Band. Could someone recommend a good GP to begin working with? I'm still working on the insurance issues, but if someone could tell me of a recent approval with their insurance company, and its name, I would appreciate it? Also, could someone recommend a facility? I've heard about the Catholic Medical Center. Has anyone had experience with others? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you. Taylor

Hi Taylor - you are in the right place. I am getting banded on the 27th of this month. I started the process in November - so it took about 5-6 months. The Obesity Clinic out of CMC (Catholic Medical Center) on the West Side is great. They have an office down off of Second Street and the surgeon is Connie Campbell. I met her the other day and she is very nice. CMC is one of the few around here - Elliot only does bypass and I think Portsmouth does lap. Go the CMC web site and give them a call. I work for the school dept so my insurance is pretty good - I have Anthem BC/BS. I have a friend that has Cigna and had to do some other stuff but still its approved. Call the Obesity Clinic at CMC - they have information nights too. Feel free to email me if you have any questions. Good Luck with the Band! I think it will be Great!

Taylor, I live in Manchester, too, and started going through Dartmouth-Hitch**** but was unimpressed. They seemed disorganized and the wait was forever. I ended up going to Brigham & Women's in Boston (only an hour away), and was absolutely thrilled. There was not a lot of running back and forth before surgery, they make all appointments on the same day. It is a nice hospital, great program, and I got a surgery date at my very first appointment (which was only a couple weeks after I made the first phone call). They do lap, open and Lap Band there Good luck, wherever you decide. Carrie
