Catholic medical center, Manchester NH
Hi, Stacey,
I had my laparascopic Roux en Y gastric bypass with Doctor Campbell at CMC in Manchester and think Catholic Medical Center and Doctor Campbell are wonderful. CMC's Obesity Treatment Center has a great program.
If you want to get an idea of what the program is like, you may want to check out one of their support groups. The next one is Tuesday, June 14 at 6 pm at Prime Time, which is in the lower level of the building directly across the street from the hospital. You may be able to connect with folks who've had Doctor Campbell place their lap bands and learn more about the program itself.
Please email me if I can give you any more information.
With best wishes,
Anne
Hi, Stacey,
Yes, there are many people who have not yet had the surgery; I attended many times as a preop. There is an equal mix of RNY and banders. You should feel right at home - the people there are so friendly and open.
Doctor Campbell was very considerate of my feelings - especially right before pre-op when I got really scared about seeing the operating room and the tools they were going to use, along with the prospect of them administering the anesthesia. She made sure I was physically and emotionally comfortable.
Dr. Campbell is very concerned that people have a realistic idea of what WLS will and will not do, and that patients participate actively in using the tool of surgery to get healthy. I like her a lot. You can see my review of her by clicking on the Bariatric Surgeons link on the left hand side of this page.
With best wishes,
Anne
