what happens after your first meeting with the surgeon?
well,i quit smoking weeks ago,i finished my classes,im discharged from PT,i have met with nancy seesman twice so far(im also meeting with her next week before i see dr.looser)i have met with the nutritionist once,i know i need to meet with her again at least once more,i lost 17 pounds, which is 5 pounds more than i had to lose,im basically there, but my question is,after you have your first consult with your surgeon, where does it go from there?thanks ahead of time!
Hi, Jennifer,
Congratulations on all your hard work to get to the consultation with your surgeon! While every patient's experience varies, depending on how their treatment program operates, my own experience was that once I had my consultation, I went right down the hall to the office manager and she called the hospital they're affiliated with and scheduled me! It was that fast. I saw my surgeon on April 17th and was scheduled for surgery May 30th.
Since then I have done everything possible to prepare myself for surgery. I also had an appointment with the program's nutritionist to review the post-op diet and had my hospital pre-op appointment yesterday. Everyone I met at my pre-op appointment at the hospital was great and gave me lots of information to help me get ready for surgery.
Hope this helps,
Anne
