Topic: Support Group Topics!
Hi Everyone, there are exciting things going on in Scottsbluff. On November 4th we will be having a mens only group. Dr. Matt Hutt, psychologist will be moderating the meeting. All men are welcome to come. Remember our meetings are at 7pm at the medical plaza south meeting room at Regional West medical center. December 2nd will be our annual christmas dinner. Dr. Holloway and Karen Johnson, RD will be there to help with healthy food choices. I will let everyone know where it will be. Let me know if you are interested in coming. Hope to see you there. Mona

Expect to see a lot more people as nervous as you are. Expect to get a ot of your questions answered, I don't know about his seminars but I would bet you will see a power point or film on what is done during the differant surgeries( if he offers more than one) lots of tips on insurance, the differant hoops you will have to jump through, re: diets, medical testing etc. maybe some pre paperwork to fill out . You will not be put on the hot seat, meaning if you just want to sit and listen and take notes that is fine. I think you will enjoy it and come out more informed. Enjoy.. blessings

Topic: WLS seminar October 13-Omaha
I am scheduled to go to my first WLS seminar on Monday, October 13 with Dr. McBride. I'm actually pretty nervous! I was wondering if anyone else was going to this seminar?? I don't know what to expect, but as you probably know, I can't even get an initial consult without attending a seminar. I'm super excited and anxious and nervous all at once. Anyone know what I should expect?

I have BC/BS from Nebraska as well(from nebraska). Alot of it depends on the employer as well. I had no problem getting approval: BMI at 54, no co-morbidities no pre-op 6 month diet. However, when I called to find out if my insurance would pay for the surgery they wouldn't tell me until the info from my surgeon was submitted. It took about a month after the info was submitted before I knew.

Hi, i'm new to this site. Jimmy gave me his card today and said to check it out. I'm just 5 weeks after surgery and have lost 25 lbs from surgery date. I have 2 question, When is the oct. meeting and is it open to men to. 2nd I go back oct. 22 to Ogallala and was wondering if any one wanted to car pool. my appointment is at 9:30. Thanks. Ed

had my band for 11 months, It was removed Wednesday after they found an erosion, I went in for a port flip. My surgeon says probablly not a canadate for replacing the band again. I will explore more detail with her this next week during follow up, but I am looking at options.
Anyone have other alternatives, I want to lose approx 50 more lbs.. ideally, but maintainance at current level would be great in itself.

Yes, it is true that Dr. Anthone only does the DS open.

Anyone have any input on the DS surgery with Dr. Corrigan McBride? Is it true that Dr. Anthone ONLY does DS open? Anyone else going to the WLS seminar on October 9th in Omaha?
