Well....I have officially fulfilled all the preop requirements for the gastric sleeve and am hoping that insurance will approve me. My husband is a federal employee and he's in the guard. We have two insurances at the moment. Primary is MHBP which is a federal employee plan and the other is tricare but the tricare drops off on the 14th of Jan. Just really nervous that I won't get approved before the tricare drops off.
When I began this process I decided that if it was meant to be it would be. But after all of this work my original plan of thought has gone out the window!

You are doing a great job since having surgery. I am glad you are a part of our support group in Lincoln! See you soon...Shelly
Who here has gone through the approval process with Medicaid? What did it involve? How difficult was it for you to get approval?
I'm 21 years old, my BMI is 38, and I'm pushing 80 pounds overweight. I've been overweight since I was in elementary school, have been diagnosed with both asthma and depression - both after I was overweight. I've hit the point that I know I need to do something different - diet alone isn't working, and even just going for walks is hard on my asthma at this point. I have an 11 month old little boy who I'm raising alone - I need to make changes so that I can be the best mother I can be for him.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
