Topic: RE: New Support Group in Hastings
Hi Beth- Actually Cherilee is my first and middle names together. My parents and aunts always refer to me that way. Everyone else just calls me Cheri. I'll relay your message of help. I haven't been banded yet, I'm going to try going next year. I don't know of anyone else going, but I'll keep it in mind, so if anyone needs a ride. Thanks for your help.-Cheri

Topic: RE: Penniculectomy ?
The wound vac changes are done Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I was out of bed and walking around te day after the surgery and it is so much easier! I think that they removed about 60lbs from me. It's made a world of difference.

Hope you Daughter is healing and feeling lots better by now. I am sure her mother is giving her lots of TLC.
See you next week in Lincoln. I am still debating whether to go down on Friday night or getting up with the birds on Sat. morning. I know I will have to leave asap on Sat. as I have a wedding to go to at 7pm on Sat.

Topic: One year check up
I saw my surgeon Dr. White last week. He said I was right on track for my weight loss. I had hoped I would have lost more by now...........( 76 pounds since date of surgery and 86 pounds since the first visit with Dr. White and when he put me on the two week liquid diet) but patience has neve been a virtue with me.
The last time I had seen him he said my band had slipped a little and if it gave me problems he would take out all the fluid and let it "rest". My comment at the time was "over my dead body will you take out the restriction"
I made the mistake of telling him I have been having lots of acid reflux and my regular Dr. put me on some meds for it and it seemed to be helping. Dr. White told me to stop the meds and then he removed all the fluid from my band. He said the band was to tight.
Dr. White was right I have had no acid reflux and no vomiting since I left his office. For the first time in months I kept what I ate down. (I didn't tell him I was having problem keeping anything down that was not almost liquid.)
When I go back in a month he will start the fills again. I am so scared I will gain a ton of weight back.

Topic: RE: Penniculectomy ?
Hi MK;
I'm glad to hear you are doing so well. I finished my pre-op tests this week and am waiting to hear my surgery date for my Panniculectomy. You mentioned that the changes were painful. How often do they change ? How quickly were you able to get out of bed ? Is it easier to get around ? How much weight were they able to get off ? Thanks so much; it is great to talk with someone who has had the same procedure. God Bless ! Michael

There is a new Lap Band Support Group in Hastings NE. They meet in the Mary Lanning Hospital Medical Services building. The meetings are monthly and the next one is Oct 27th 5:30-6:30. I am so excited to have one so close. I haven't had my surgery yet, but it is open to everyone, even if you are just thinking about having weight loss surgery.--Cherilee
