Barb,  it's a little like it rains when you wash the car........I am SO glad you bought a coat.  This 30 degree weather is killing me!

I'm glad everything is going better for you and you have some restriction now.  Doesn't sound like you did too bad but yes, we all have to keep in gear now that the holidays are near.

Hi Patsy, I can't believe people and their opinions. I hope you see this person a year from surgery and show her the band works. Good luck. Mona

That is so fantastic; I am so happy for you. If I could be half as successful I would be happy. Are you still going to have the DS ? If so do you know when ? I weigh about 475 and I can only hope to see the same kind of results. Do you remember how long the surgery took ? Thanks for all your insight.

I am doing fantastic! I am home, working, and living life! It's an amazing change and for all the work it took, I am so glad that I did it! I definitely understand the nerves. The night before the surgery, I was so nervous, I couldn't sleep. But it is so worth it. I walk like a normal person. I am not out of breath - I can walk around for hours without a problem. I started driving again! I haven't done that in at least a year. It's so worth it.

Hi MK;
How are things going for you ? I'm less than 3 weeks from my Panniculectomy and I am getting very nervous. I see Dr A on the 25th; I hope that calms me down some. Let me know how you are doing.

Topic: update on myself
Just got home from Omaha today..........what a rainy drive.   I did go shopping after seeing my surgeon and got a winter coat..  I didn't want to spend an arm and a leg buying one since I will be smaller next winter.  So I went to a sports store with my dh and tried on a Nebr. Husker coat and then had my hubby try it on and it fit him also.  My thought was after this year he can wear it............and no he is not a cross dresser.........it is a man's coat.  But it will keep me warm this year and next year he can wear it since he is really into Nebr. football.   It is reversible and has a hood so I should stay warm this winter.  When I go to work tomorrow my coworkers will be suprised they have been giving me grief for the last couple of weeks for not having a coat.

I did see my surgeon today.........last month he took all the fluid (restriction) out of my band.  It had slipped a little and I was having problems keeping anything down and had acid reflux 24 hrs a day.   Today he put in 2cc's and said he would go slow filling it back up.........hopefully this time things will go better.  I did gain 3 pounds in the last 6 weeks .   So now I have to get my butt in gear and get back on the program..........I knew I had no restriciton and kind of went wild a few times with what I was eating.

One more thing while shopping at the mall in Omaha I saw this lady and it was a former neighbor of ours she had moved to Omaha 4 years ago............she is working at Dillards so we visited for a few minutes..............

Just heard on the weather it will get up to the 50's  ..........  could have held off getting that coat

Topic: Passed pulmonary & Psych Dr. - not encouraging!
Hi all

I passed my pulmonary tests with flying colors!!!

I did pass my psych evaluation BUT the Dr. was a real downer.  After our discussion she was very concerned w/ what I ate but we did talk of what nutritional changes I was going to make.  She said she see's more people fail after lap band than succeed.  Before I left she said "I would wish you good luck BUT you have a long hard road ahead"

I figure if I had a good nutritional diet and good portion control I wouldn't be wanting the surgery. right?

Anyway I will prove that doctor wrong.  I am on my way to surgery date of December 10th!

Topic: I Need A Walking Buddy
Hi
I live in Lincoln NE around Linoln High School Area, and struggling with weight regain already, I am lacking more exercise for over 4 weeks. I use to walk for 45 min to 1 hour at the F st rec center  which is located at 12th and F st. 4 to 5 days a week. I am looking for a walking buddy that would like to walk with me there , its winter now, I 'was' walking in my neighborhood . ..I'm still not at goal and want to concentrate hard on it..Walking around 2-3pm works well for me.There's no fee at that time also.. I also play volleyball on Mon and Fri nights for 2 hours  each session . Just a bunch of 30, 40, and 50 yr old's that play at the church basement.. Anyone in my area want to join me? I am 51 yrs old, tall, I lost 97 lbs then regained 5 this last 2 months. If interested please contact me,I can answer questions for you. thanks ........Wendy
