Topic: Looking for others in NE w/
The DS, I'm curious as to how many in NE support groups have had the DS or BPD/DS surgery?
I was around on here when I began researching surgery (was looking at the Lap band at the time). And decided to have the DS. I have spent most of my time on the DS boards here, and realized that I would like some local support (hoping to make it to the Kearney support meeting soon). I know we all go through similar situations regarding weight loss surgery and I would love support for anyone / everyone in that regard, but I would also like to have some support from others who have had the DS.
I am thrilled with my success at this point, but also know that emotionally and mentally I could use some help from friends who are in the same situations. My two at home girls don't like to hear any more of my successes (I am getting smaller than they are and they consider my WLS as having taken the easy way out, they are in their mid-late teens) and make me feel bad at times. My hubby is a major support as is my best friend, but she is in Canada, so it is email. I want to be able to chat and meet up with people or even a person who has had the same surgery who is going through or has gone through some of the same things I am regarding the DS.
Is there anyone out there?
I see lots of the same faces that were here when I was hanging around over a year ago, congrats to all you for your continued successes! It is so awesome that we have all found a WLS that works for us and our lifestyles! Thank God for all the docs that can help us! :)

Topic: Anyone hear from Stacy lately?
Anyone hear from Stacy (mrgiedrnkr) lately? I haven't in several months. I've emailed her a couple times but haven't heard back. I hope she's ok.
Topic: RE: Hello! Update from me!
Jess It is so good to see you again. Can't believe your baby is 18 months old already !! Last time I saw you was at support group when you were still expecting( I haven't gone back to the support group) . My daughter was with me, doubt you remember her. She was told it was doubtful that she would ever be able to have children. She is due to be delivered in 9 weeks. I can't help but believe her RNY had a lot to do with her having a successful pregnancy. I am having weight problems but it is of my own doing..Glad your back !! Blessings

Topic: RE: Dr. Forse
Yeah I finally gave up. I made an appointment with Dr. McBride today. Hopefully things work out. I can't take all these issues anymore!

Not being a pain, but you might want to double check Dr. F's credentials. They look great BUT ...he has only done 1000 bariatric surgeries and ALL the rest of the credentials have to do with research. I found on line a couple of articles he has written or co-written, but nothing about him actually doing the surgeries. He himself said that he has been at creighton for a long time, BUT where has he been? He said himself that he has done 1000+ surgeries, but he has been a surgeon according to the info I found since 1974????? that isn't very many bariatric surgeries for the time frame.
I just want you to make sure you have really checked him out. (or any doc for that matter!!!!!)
Also, the way he handles office visits doesn't seem to have changed from August until mid November either, still little time for the patient...not my cup of tea for someone who is going to be cutting me open (or continuing to care for me) as I want the doc to KNOW ME...not just my chart or from what some one else has to say to me.
Hugs!

Topic: RE: Creighton ?
I just made an appointment today with Dr. McBride because of all the same crap people are experiencing at Creighton. I had called last week and left a message for Dr. McBride's nurse to call me as I had several questions and I didn't know squat about the doctor. I was mad that she hadn't called bac****il today but once I spoke to her, listened to how her practice works, and she answered all my questions I forgot about that. I talked to the nurse for 25 minutes...way beyond what I have ever spoken to anyone at Creighton. I can't get in for an adjustment until 1/5 but I am ok with that due to my schedule at the moment.
Topic: RE: Inquiring about Dr Sudan!
I had Dr. Sudan do my lapband. He seemed to know what he was doing and his bedside manner was good. I haven't had any problems.

I had Dr. Sudan for my surgery (DS) and love him and the surgery he did! No problems whatsoever and his bedside manner was awesome (even made sure my hubby had a pull out chair/bed for the four nights I was in the hospital). Great doc!
