Hi Becky,  shoot wish you had to go on the 18th instead of the 17th lol.  I have to be there at 9 a.m. and need a riding buddy.  My kids all fell through :(. 

I would love to get together!  When is your surgery?????  Ohhhhhhhhh I'm so excited to find another DSer lol.  I so want to make new friends. 

Oh & the one in HOldrege....sorry name ran away from me.  I would love to get together.  It will have to be after Christmas....I'm a seamstress and I am bogged under (still have 5 pr pjs and two Chsitmas jumpers to get done and in the mail this week).  But I would love to get together. 

I don't know if I can make it to the meeting Wednesday night :(  I have to be in OMaha by 9 a.m. on Thursday and we have a car issue in the house (five drivers, three cars lol, three teenagers with jobs and one that has to comute to and from Hastings, DH works in kearney)  I'm going to try but not sure it will work out this month.  :(

Hi everyone, I grew up in Western Nebraska near Ogalalla and will be there for about a week around Christmas.  If any one is near that area and wants to get together, let me know. I do go to North Platte for the shopping after Christmas, so that is not out of the question.  Gayle

I am a state employee with DHHS.  Coverage is usually approved and the coverage pays very well.  My out of pocket for the surgery for the lapband was less than $600.  Fills were covered 100% .  best of luck to you.

I too was lost after Dr. Sudan left.  I never had any labs done after surgery a year ago.  I asked them about it and oh yeah we should do that at your next appointment and never would even though they said they made a note in my chart.  I was so frustrated with Creighton, Dr. Forse, and their staff that I am leaving there.  I hadn't really decided if I wanted to go with UNMC or Methodist for my future appointments.  I talked at great length with Dr. McBride's nurse (UNMC) and got some really good information.  I know they are a teaching hospital too so I was afraid of the time back-ups that ALWAYS happened at Creighton.  Like everyone else my time is valuable especially when I am leaving work to go to follow-ups.  I couldn't get into UNM****il 1/5.  I decided to check out Methodist too.  I didn't get as much info on them on the phone but was told I could go to the educational seminar to get more info on the doctors and how they run their practice.  I went to the educational seminar at Methodist tonight (Dr. Anthone and Dr. Winterstein).  I felt pretty comfortable with them.  I really like Dr. Winterstein.  I haven't decided for sure what I am going to do but at the moment I am thinking I will go with Dr. Winterstein.  I did have lab work done by my gyno when 2 weeks ago although she admitted that she didn't know which tests would be required if I were doing it through bariatics.  She did find that I was low on 1 vitamin.  Whichever doctor I choose I want them to look at what was done and repeat it if any tests were missing.  I just want to make sure that I am healthy and where I need to be 1 year out.  Methodist is a lot closer to me too and I am thinking about their support groups.
