Topic: Need HELP from Caring Nebraskans!!
Hi, I have exhausted every appeal and I mean EVERY Avenue of getting any help from the state on getting my surgery approved thru any type of insurance. My only hope is to flood the Nebraska officials from here to Washington with these already made up letters. There are so many people like me ready to give up on living because of the way we feel. At www.obesitylaw.com along the side where it says "Get Active" there is a place to click "letter already written" It only takes seconds to print off, sign and mail. I am asking for anyone who has any compassion left, to please give me a few minutes of your time to do this. I am so desperate for help and I have had every door slammed in my face. There's even a place to get ALL the Nebraska officials addresses I got mine from a different place, www.obesitylawyers.com again in the "get active" section, click on the blue "Congress" and put in your zip code. These are two different web sites of great attorneys but neither one of them could help me either. I have mailed out 13 letters, one for every offical, at every address listed, BUT I know I won't be enough to get their attention alone...PLEASE HELP ME, Sincerely........hopelessy depressed

Topic: "Insurance stuff"
Hello everyone. I recently received my 3 page criteria that I need to meet in order to have the surgery. I expected it to be a lot worse. Most of it is explanations. I was worried I must say. The only thing that MAY kink the hoop is the medically supervised diet (or lack of) A lady that I work with, that has the same insurance, did not have any medically supervised diets. She said she did not go to the doctor unless she was quite ill. She did however TRY a zillion diets that failed. So like me. So I am smiling but I anot going to celebrate until the surgery is scheduled. I cannot wait till I am losing the weight like all of you. God help me !!! Thanks for listening everyone.

Welcome to the OH Board and to a new life for you! I have had my band about 10 months and it's the best thing I have ever done for myself! Shoot any questions you might have to the board and I am sure someone will answer for you!

I am a newbie compared to the other people that posted - I have only been banded 2 months. I chose it because it seemed like the least invasive option and had the least amount of risks. I do have to say though that the weight I have taken off has been hard fought - liquid diet (20 pounds) and food choices/exercise for the other 13. It isn't a miracle answer and you still need to work at it!

Hi Dorothy, Welcome to the board. I am glad you are using this for support. There are a lot of experienced bandsters to get support from. See you on the 30th. Mona

Well congratulations on your upcoming surgery. I had the lap band surgery in June of 2005. With Dr. Holloway. So far so good if you can still in touch with your local support group . And there is nothing to be scared of. So stay in touch.
