I know how...
Thanks Laurie! I'm only on the meds for a few more days. Then I see my OB on the 14th. I haven't seen her yet since any of this happened. I'm feeling much better now though! I did catch a nasty cold but other than that pretty good. Still taking it easy though, I don't want to overdue it and regret it.

I'm considering surgery, and wondered about the success rate of stomach stapling versus banding, and also the recovery process between the two.

I know how...
Jess,
I know how scary early labor is and having to go through surgery while you are pregnant. I'm glad that they figured out about your appendix! As to the labor, I went into labor early with my youngest and they put me on medications that stopped the contractions. I was on them for about 6 weeks and the DAY I went off I went back into labor and delivered a healthy little girl! You will be fine! I will pray that everything works out for you and your new little boy! Congrats on the baby! Hugs!

Topic: My unexpected hospital stay!
I know don't get time to post too often, but here goes. I'm 31 weeks pregnant. On Tuesday I was experiencing some tummy pain, on my right side and the middle of my stomach. I kept telling myself it was gas. So I had 3 BM's that evening and still didn't feel well. Even vomitted a few times. Nothing seemed to help. So I kept pacing my house thinking the gas pains would go away. Well it would calm down then flare up again. Finally about midnight I called my OB clinic's on call. She said to go to my local ER and get checked out. I still kept thinking it's just gas pains why go to the ER and waste prescious sleeping time and money. Well by this time I couldn't lay down or sit down. So I finally decided to go just to make sure things were alright. Well my local ER couldn't figure out what the right side pain was, they thought maybe round ligiment pains. But I was having contractions 2-3 minutes apart. That was my Gas pains! LOL!! They gave me shots for the contractions but didn't seem to help much. Finally they called for an ambulance to transport me to the town about 60 miles away. This is also where I Dr at. So when I got there they evaluated me. Turns out my appendix were ready to rupture!! Yikes! So I went in for surgery Wed morning. Things are better with that. I'm still having contractions. I'm still on meds for them. htey have slowed down though. As long as I'm not active they are not too bad. I was discharged today from the hospital. So I see my OB on the 14th and then we will decide what to do. Hopefully my contrx will subside by then. I have meds to take for them still. So it's been an adventurous week! Definetely not fun! But atleast now I can be here with my DH and DD. Oh and everything is fine with my band! Yay!
So please pray that my little boy stays put for a while. I'm scheduled for a c-section June 25th.

Topic: RE: Happy May Day
When my boys were little (they are now 18 and 16), we would make little baskets with candy. We would get up really early and run around our townhomes leaving the baskets on our neighbors doorsteps. We had great fun! My boys looked forward to it for several years and they loved the fact that no one could figure out that we were the ones doing it! Probably because they were boys. It makes me smile to this day. I hope they do this with their children some day.

Cindy, I remember doing May Baskets also. I would help Mom make them. She always had popcorn ready when I got home and we would fill up little dixie cups with candy and popcorn as fillers. I would go to all my friends houses and then knock on the door, wait till they got there and run. I always let the boys catch me...HA. When my son was in school many years later I had him make baskets a couple years but it wasn't the "in" thing to do and he finally made me give up. Thanks for reminding me of this.

Just wanting to wish everyone a happy May Day!
I remember taking May Baskets to my friends and elderly neighbors when I was young. With only having boys and living in the country we don't do the baskets like I did way back when. Ringing the bell and running for dear life so you would not be caught, spending the morning picking flowers to put into the baskets. What May Day memories does anyone else have?
