Hi Bette--I have been so bummed out. Now I need a 6 month medically supervised diet. I spoke with my friend that has the same insurance as I do and she said she thinks it has changed since she had it done. Her surgeon(Sudan) told her she needed to lose 70 lbs before he would do the surgery. She left and came back 1 year later and had lost the 70 lbs--he did the surgery. No supervised diet. Do you think Miller would back date it??? Especially how he feels??
My appointmnet is at 3:00pm in Omaha--there is no way to be back at 5:30--
That would have been nice, call me !!!

I have my date, June 19th!! So exciting but somewhat unreal at the same time. What can anyone tell me about the upcoming days and weeks? Any advice about things you would have done or did do to make things go smoother?
Topic: Lapband and NSAIDS?
I'm just sure I was told or read somewhere to avoid NSAIDS with the Lapband. Anyone know if this is true? I've avoided them since having my Lapband. I was just reading thru my hospital paperwork from appendectomy surgery and I was given NSAIDS. So now I'm checking into this. I know my OB said she gives Ibroprofin after my c-section coming up. So she told me to check into it. Any ideas??? Thanks so much!

I had my Lap Band done in Scottsbluff. Dr. Holloway did it. He's awesome! I really like him alot! Very good bedside manner, which means alot to me. I highly recommend him! It was all a great experience for me! If you have more questions please ask!

Thank you for writing Mona. As I look through my medical records there are numerous times that my PCP states I am working on my weight. I have documentation from the diabetes RN that goes over the carb counting, several attempts of failing, etc Some of it is in connection with the diabetes. I even have an entry about my attempt at Weigh****chers. The amount of weight lost and the regain.All within the last three years. But I do not have a specific entry that says it is a medically supervised diet for WLS.
What do you think ?

Hi Chris, it is a major pain meeting criteria for insurance companies. They change their criteria so often. What they want to see is clinical notes from your doctor documenting your attempt to lose weight. If you don't have this documentation you could be denied. Call and ask them for sure. I would start it now so I wouldn't waste any time. Good luck. Mona
