I am starting to organize a new support group in the Central City area.  It is just in the organizational stages, so I can use any ideas and suggestions that you might have for me.  My co-facilitator is have lap-band tomorrow.  So we will have both lap-band and Gastric by-pass in the facilitating capacity.  Wish us luck and remember us in your prayers.

Good going Jimmy.  By the way you really look great.  I was at the Grand Island meeting.  It is great to see how people look in person istead of a picture.  Any way it was wonderful to meet you in the flesh! :sexy:Hazel

Hi Cindy, Gotta tell you that made me laugh too. Just to introduce myself to your friends here. I am Cindy's older and MUCH WISER sister. Though I must say it was because of her, I got the courage to start the process of getting my surgery. Thanks Sis. I am accompanying her to get her surgery. It will be an unique experience for me to learn before mine. They she is coming with me to mine!! Love ya Sis, Dottie

thought you all might enjoy this story from my day today I work in a nursing home as a bath aide, and the woman who is going to be filling in for me while I am on leave for the surgery has had this panic attack at me leaving and her having to do the baths for the two weeks. Well anyway for the 3 or 4th day in a row she again asked me when is my surgery, "the 18,19, and 20th is when it is" she asked if I could give her directions to my house because she wants to stop in one day after I am home to check in on me and see if everything is ok........ fine I can tell you how to get there................... so strait faced (and yes she is a blonde in every sense of the word, a ditz does not begin to cover it)she tells me "oh I bake you a cake and bring it for you when I come" all I could do was stand there and crack up laughing at her! I mean I really did appriciate the thought but what thought exactly I am not sure. This really made my day for me today. Cindy

Congrats!! Family and friends support help make the journey so much easier, but sometimes people have to see the results and health benifits before they will believe. And maybe more of what you have planted has taken root than you think. Being scared for a loved one going through this can be harder than what we are going through. We have taken months or years to gather info, research, and learn, and then when we fill family in they may only have a short time period to adjust to all the information. At least we have this great site to pour out our worries and fears to someone who is been down that same road. Anyway Congrats Cindy

Hi Michelley, You are paying the doctor to take care of you and if you feel he is not meeting your needs you can switch doctors. I don't know the physicians in North Platte. Maybe some of the North Platte members can add their 2 cents. You might also visit with Dr. Forney about your legs. We can help you with your legs. Good luck. Mona
