Hi, you might go to the Lap Band forum. You would get more new bandster responses. A lot of us on the Nebraska forum are experienced bandsters. Sounds like you are doing great. Keep up the good work. Mona

Hi MJ,
That is good news. Now the waiting for the surgery is going to be the hardest part! Have you had your appt with the dietician? You will want to be prepared for what you can drink or eat. I started to journal my progress by taking pictures and then take pictures every month to note the progress. I find it hard to notice the weight loss, but my friends have (i didn't tell alot of people). As for the surgery my doc had me on a 2 week semi-liquid diet ( 2 meals slim-fast and one meal) and then day before all clear liquids. My surgery was routine but i stayed overnight which is nice because the nurses wake you up every two hours to take your blood pressure, take your temp or check the incisons. All you really need is loose fitting clothes to wear home ( i wore a cotton cami or like an undershirt so I wouldn't have to fiddle with the bra hooks) and shoes that you can just slip into. I took a book and magazines but slept most of the time because of the morphine.
hope this helps, if you have any more questions ask away. Prepare for the worst and hope for the best.

Topic: Hello, new here
Hello. I am new here and just embarking on this WLS journey. I dont even know what to ask or what can happen. I am attending a seminar tomorrow night at Saint Elizabeth in Lincoln to learn what can be done. Does Insurance companies have a hard time approving this; I dont think I have alot of Co-morbidities. I know I am pre diabetic. I have had a joint replacement in one knee and the other one is cracking. I have snooring problems. I know I stuggle with depression. Can someone help me answer questions, etc.
Thanks and God Bless
Kym

Topic: just checking
Just wondering how new lap band people are doing. I had surgery the middle of April and since I started this process in January I have lost 63 pounds. I am just curious how much others have lost? Dr. Holloway says I'm doing wonderful but I'm just was wondering if I am on track with others. I am actually down 45 lbs since surgery. I am very excited as my cloths are fitting differently and I am able to walk in walmart without having to take 4 to 5 breaks. Now it is only 1!!! It is my goal to be able to hang with my 14 year old son without wondering how far I need to walk. Just wanting to compare weight loss. I know the Dr. says we are all different but I want to make sure that I am on track. This is the best thing I have ever done for myself.

Hi Everyone, I am trying to get people together to participate in the Bolder Boulder in Colorado next memorial weekend. I would like to get people to walk the course. If you are interested let me know. This will give you a chance to train before the event next year. Mona
