Topic: Can I get An ANGEL here?
I am new to this and I can't presume to know exactly what an angel here does for you, but if I were to guess I would say that any angel on your (my) side during all of this would be a  blessing..... I am having my suregery on Monday....I am so excited...a little nervous, and filled with anticipation as to what I can do with my life with less weight to carry....My 10 year old made the comment that he had never seen me skinny....techinically me neither..there was a brieft moment 10 years ago when I dropped some weight and BOOM I got pregnant...and it has been the same up and down struggle that I have battlled since I was a preteen....oh to be 40 next  year and healthier than I was at 20!!! YEAH ME!!

Hello BCBS shield approved mine in about that many days...depending on the type of coverage you have with them...I just spoke with them this morning about what all they cover and I am very pleased with the minimal amount that I will have to pay out of pocket. Today I have the prerequisite last seminar, tomorrow the 2 esaphous tests, and wednesay is my pre op physical and then I have sit and wait for Monday to roll around to be BANDED!!! good luck!

Topic: Approved!
I called BCBS again this morning to check the status of my insurance submission.  Julie there told me that I was approved for surgery Friday afternoon.  This means that it took them 5 days to approve the surgery.  This is super fast in my opinion.  OMG I am sooo excited.  I called Dr. Sudan's office to see about scheduling all the pre-op tests.  The nurse is in clinical right now but will look at my chart and call me back.  I'll update later. PS - DID I SAY I AM EXCITED?!?!?!  I AM!

Hi, I agree with Stacey. Everyone gets the jitters. I was scared when I had my surgery. Just think of all the good things that will happen once your surgery is done. You will hopefully get off some medicine and it will be easier to move around. You are doing something to prolong your life and make it better. I wish you the best of luck on your day. Mona

Topic: RE: Some Assistance Please
Can you keep any liquids down or any food down?  If you can, I am betting on flu.  If you can't, I am betting on band. I am in Omaha.   The 175 is kind of a pipe dream for me.  Anything under 200 would be fine but I would like to be under 184 so I can have a "normal" BMI - I am 6 ft so <184 is normal. Good luck at the doctor.  Crossing my fingers for the FLU!  :)

Thanks.  I am headed for Dr. tomorrow to have it checked out.  I either have a slip or.....a bad case of the flu.  My guess would be the first, but hopefully the last.

I noticed your tickler and it seems that we are pretty much in line as far as weight we started out and then your final goal.  It seems realistic for me.  WHere are you from in Nebraska.  I am in Sumner and work in Broken Bow.

Topic: RE: VSG surgeon in Nebraska?
because the DS is discriminated against by the insurance industry, as experimental, Aetna just approved it last year as did medicare, or I would be done now, I cant have the rny, impossible, many choose to go to Mexico or Brazil where the total cost is about 13k including air fair , come to the ds forum for details. I'm here to learn about Dr Antone.

No words of wisdom but you can take solace in the fact that your jitters are PERFECTLY NORMAL!  We all go thru it!

I have my surgery date finally and I am getting a little anxious.  I have complete confidence in my surgeon, I am just worried about the procedure and the time in the hospital.  Any words of wisdom?
