Topic: RE: Hi, need some help please!
Hi Nicole, unfortunately if there is an exclusion in the policy, there isn't much you can do. Make sure it is the surgery that is excluded not just treatment for obesity. Get a copy of the policy and read it carefully. You might find a loophole. Good luck. Mona

Topic: Hi, need some help please!
Hi, I'm new to this and have just started researching WLS. My insurance is through Blue Cross and they say WLS surgery isnt covered on my plan. Any ideas on how I can go around this or options on what else to look at? Thanks in advance!

Topic: RE: Insurance Questions
Hi, call the insurance company and ask them what criteria you need to meet to qualify for surgery and if they will pay for wls. Every insurance company has their own criteria to qualify. Some require you to follow a diet with a dietician and others don't. Good luck. Mona

Topic: RE: 2 months post OP weight loss
Hi, you might start exercising. That is the best plateau buster. I would also encourage you to eat some veggies. I would also reconsider the rice cakes. Each program has their own protein daily requirements. Make sure you are getting your surgeons recommended amount of protein. Good luck. Mona

Topic: 2 months post OP weight loss
I had the RY procedure on December 15th; I have lost 43lbs however in the last 3 weeks I have not lost any weight. This is a normal day of eating:
Breakfast: Protein Shake
Snack: Drinkable Yogurt
Lunch: Soup or Tuna no bread
Snack: SF pudding or a rice cake
Dinner: 2 oz chicken mashed potatoes or fish
I'm getting in 60g of protein a day and drinking 64oz of fluid. I have not really done any activity other than work everyday and chasing 2 small children in the evening. I will exercise more once I get some of the weight off. I have a lot of pain in my knees and feet.
Has anyone had similar issues? I expected the weight loss to be more consistent.
