Hi Jen,    Do you have a surgery date? I can understand the being anxious.  When I finally decided to take the big step, it seemed like I wanted everything done yesterday. Good luck and keep us posted. Barb

Welcome Jen. Do you have a date yet? And yes I can so remember the excitment . It will truely change your life. There is so much fantastic information in OH. I had RNY in July of 04 by the time I had the surgery I felt totally prepared and there were no surprises because of the time I put in to research and the fantastic people who are so willing to share and keep you  up lifted. Hi my name is Jen - I'm awaiting surgery at UNMC with Dr. McBride.  I'm so anxious I can't even tell  you....well yes, I can tell you because I'm sure you can relate to my feeling!  Well this is just me saying hi!  I hope to post more as I navigate myself though this website.  God bless, Jen

Hi Jill, sounds like you are doing great. It also sounds like you have hit your first plateau. Make sure you are eating enough protein. You might also change your exercise program. Sometimes that helps break a plateau.  Have you been to see Dr. Holloway for a fill? Sometimes a tweak of a fill can help you. Keep up the good work. Mona

I guess I am very lucky my hubby has always been supportive of me, I can't even count how many times I have been on Weigh****chers.  It worked for about 2 or 3 months then..........you probably know how that goes.   When I decided to have this surgery,  I didn't say anything to anyone till the night before I went to my information meeting.  Then figured I better tell him why I was going to Omaha.  He just said if that's what you want I will support you. I did all the research and made the decision on what type of surgery I wanted and then told him.  He didn't even meet my surgeon till the day of the surgery.  He did go with me to one of my psych evaluations meeting.  The psychologist wanted to talk with anyone that lived in the household to see if they were supportive of what I wanted to do. When we go out to eat (which is way to often) he will choose a place that has salmon or some type of fish that I can eat. I need to go in or another fill so I start feeling restricition, but I am going to wait till January.  I want to get the hip surgery over and out of the way.  I know I won't be overeating while recuperation, it is too hard to get to the kitchen with a walker : ) Barb

I'm sure you will . I don't know about you but...I had been on sooo...many diets that didn't work miracles , that when I began this journey..my husband said.." Well here we go again". But he's a believer now. For once in my life..I'm truly satisfied with the amount of food I eat (or don't eat.) Whichever the case might be.

I do like to sleep. LOL I haven't read any of the other state boards.  I do get on the over 50 board sometimes.  But the Nebraska board is the one I check first.    It makes it more interesting since I have met a few people from here at the support meeting.  Jill, and Mona and Jimmie, if I forgot someone else's name don't hold it against me I am horrible with names. I am down 42.5 lbs since I started this new journey of my life. I am scheduled to have my left hip replacement Dec 17th.  My surgeon was very pleased with my weight loss.  I had my other hip replaced last January.  He made me feel really good with his comments about my weight loss so far.  He kept saying this surgery would probably be easier recovering since I had lost some weight.  I want to be down 50 libs by Christmas not sure if I waill make it but I am gonna try.  My goal for next Christmas is 100..........keep your fingers crossed for me. Yeah I totally agree. I would definately be a more involved party in the Nebraska board but there is hardly any action over here. Guess were gonna have to liven this place up a little you know what I mean.
