Jill, I am so, so sorry.
When you asked what to say to her....I make it a point to be honest. I have watched a very close aunt and uncle die of cancer. I don't pull any punches. I figure I have things to say to them before they go. When they told me I told both of them "I'm sorry, I will miss you terribly". I realize this doesn't work for everyone. Even Uncle Ralph's kids weren't the way I am so maybe my way is wrong. Just remember one thing.........once they are gone you can't tell them how much you love them and how much you have cherished your time together. Maybe your sister in law will be more receptive a little later. My prayers will be with you all.

Thanks - I'll be having the lapband procedure. I'm on a liquid diet from here on out. UGH.

What kind of surgery Banding or RNY ? Either way it's great news. I don't know if you like water very much. One combo I've really gotten into is putting DeVinchi sugar free coffe syrup in my water. The vanilla with caramal flaver is to die for. I reall got into chicken broth also. I like it even now that it's not a requirement. I also did something some people might consider gross. When the temptation over came me and I just felt I just had to chew something or I'd go crazy. I brought out the dill pickles & chewed the heck out of it & then disguarded it in a napkin.( I just made certian NOT TO SWALLOW ANY. I'm really happy for you.

My surgery has been scheduled for December 26, 2007! Yeahhhhh!!!I'm now on a liquid diet Does anyone have any tips, suggestions, words of advice regarding the liquid diet, and/or anything I need for my recovery at home? I know I need liquid tylenol, and approved liquid diet foods, but beyond that I'm not sure!

My sister in-law has had a reoccurrence of her cancer , but nothing can be done this time. She had both breast removed two yrs.ago. Then last year there was another lump under her arm. That was removed. They tell her now it has reached her liver & nothing more can be done for her. My husband has 2 other sisters that had cancer . Sadly one has already passed away. I am at a loss. I do not know what I can say to her. Her whole family , including her are destroyed . I feel so helpless. She doesn't want anyone to say anything about it to her. I am very sad .

Hazel, when I was researching my surgery I called there and at that time they did not do the lapband. Do you know if there is a change? It would be about 1 1/2 hours closer for me to get my fills...ONE WAY!!!
