Topic: I'm Back & Still Kick'en

Ok Scrooge Lighten Up
I had another port infection. But thanks to a wonderful Dr. & staff(Dr.Holloway &Team), I'm still here & kicking. A scan found t/infection all around t/port & some of the tubing.Doc said it was good I came in . It was caught before t/infection had reached the band itself !! otherwise it would have eroded into the stomach & everything would have had to come out. Mona came to see me 3 times. That was quite a blessing. My husband drove me out west (nagging me all t/way about how dumb I was to have had t/surgery in t/first place)& then returned home until I was released from t/hosp. yesterday. Dr. Holloway called my husband after t/surgery & worked his magic. My husband is now onboard again. I don't know what all he said ..but whatever he said sure worked. I really beleive you couldn't ask for a better doctor !!! I'll sing his praises forever !! His nurse Dot is a very caring & deticated person. Mona(another nurse at Western Surgical) is the doctors' Bariatric Coordenator .She is a great person *****ally cares. They should know what good person they have.I'll be returning in 2 months to replace the port & tubing.

Hi Kris, congratulations on getting your letter of approval. That is so awesome. You will be changing your life so I bet you are freaking out. What procedure are you having done? Are you attending support group? They can help you while you are waiting for a date. You will still be able to eat cookies after surgery. Just not 4-5 like you do now. Make sure you don't gain too much weight before surgery. The weight gain happens in the liver and it makes it more difficult for the surgeon to do the surgery. The liver is on top of the stomach and has to be moved out of the way to perform your surgery. Good luck. Let us know how you are doing. Mona

Hi all - I am very freaked out. I was approved today, and decided to get back on to see what's happening here. I don't know when I'm scheduled, but oh boy, I'm kind of freaking out. This is really going to happen. I won' t back down tho. I want to spend my 40th birthday in June skinny (at least skinnier) for once. Wow. I better enjoy these xmas cookies now..... for who knows what tomorrow brings! kris

Topic: RE: Looking for those that need to lose 200+ or have lost 200+
I'm 7 months post op and I'm finding that those of us that have alot of weight to lose have some different issues then those that have less to lose.  I'm always the one at the monthly group support that still looks like I need to have WLS even though I've lost 120 pounds.  I'm hoping to find others that we can share issues and encouragement.  Feel free to join ....

Hi Hazel, I will keep track of her. It's too bad her hubby isn't being supportive. Sometimes this just happens. It is no different than any other surgery. Mona
