What am I doing wrong??
Thanks, but I think RNY needs more protein don't they? I had Lap Band. i could be wrong because I don't know much about the RNY. My Dr is great! And he's right if I eat the protein first i should get in plenty. Occasionally I will have some CIB in th morning to get some protein in. I usually have cottage cheese for breakfast...if I'm hungry.

I don't know for sure either if RNY needs more ... but the lap band people on the other message board are following the same formula and having good results.
One of the lap band men... Wendell ... has said that getting in enough protein DEFINITELY made a difference in how fast he has been losing. He was a BIG GUY and has lost a lot. Still has a ways to go, but doing very well by including protein shakes.
YMMV tho of course. and certainly your decision.... but unless you're eating 4 full ounces of protein at each of 3 meals a day, then that's not enough for the formula.
I specifically ASKED Dr Hung's nurse at the pre-op support group last night if the RNY patients need more protein than the lap-band patients, and she said no. I was curious about that since you'd asked the question.... made me wonder too!
Dr Hung is now doing WAY MORE lap-bands than RNY's. It seems that the only ones choosing RNY are the ones whose insurance will cover that, but not the band.
at any rate, I hope the scale starts moving for you soon!
