Greetings to everyone!!!

I am new to all of this, and am anxiously awaiting to get word from the insurance company. I am so excited to be having an opportunity to get this done and make some wonderful changes in my life. I was wondering if there is a support group in the Grand Island area? And if so when and where does it meet? I have some negative people in my life that continue to tell me what I could lose by having this surgery, like my life. I have told them yes that is possible, but I have complete confidence in my doctor, Dr. Goering. And I know that the best thing that I will lose from this is my excess weight. I know that it is going to take lots of work, but I am willing to do it, because anything worth having is worth working hard for. Hope everyone has a great year. Lori W.

Welcome Lori! We have a couple around the board here from GI. They could probably help you out with info on a Support group. What type of surgery are you planning for? I have the Lap Band. I had it placed on Dec 8th. Going great so far. I'm down 22 pounds. Waiting for the indurance approval is frustrating! I'm a very impatient person. Good luck! Jess 248/226/140

Do you have a date set for your surgery? I know it is hard for some people to accept the facts about weight loss surgery. Welcome Lori, I too had Dr. GOering, he is wonderful. I had every confidence in him. I had surgery almost a year ago and have lsot 133 lbs, so far. My brother who is obese, was the negative one in my life and he continues to be. I wish I had an answer for you as to why they give us grief. When is your surgery scheduled? Rhonda 312/179/155?
