No Smoking Please !!

Hi all!! Well I just talked to Dr.Sudans office and found out that medicaid will approve my surgery, but and this is a biggie..... I have to be smoke free for 6 months !! OMG .....I've been smoking for almost 30 years!!!! That means more fighting with a will-power that I dont seem to have. I don't know how I'm gonna do this one. Any suggestions would be most welcome !!!!! Take Care!!! Lori

Also not sure what type of surgery you are going for but on the Lap Band board I've seen posts on there about smoking and seemed some may have had some good ideas. Jess

Congratulations Lori on getting approval!!! Good luck on the no smoking thing. I'm not a smoker, so don't have that to contend with. I've read lots of post about Dr. Sudan's patients and he definitely wants them to stop smoking. Have you met with Dr. Sudan yet? He's really a nice man. So is his staff. Keep us posted on how you're doing! I'm still battling with my insurance since they denied me. Hope one of these days they change their mind! Karey (the other Falls City Sudan patient!)
