I mailed it!!

Well I finally got around to mailing my deposit today!! I had to go to the library to make a copy of my approval letter. I've been waiting for DH to be so I wouldn't have to take Mia to the library. But I took her anyways. So it's mailed!! Now i hope it doesn't take long for the surgery date!! See you on the losin side!!! Jess

Thanks! You're right I did have a head start. Are you planning on having the RNY or Lap Band? Has your info been submitted to insurance yet? Jess

Hi Jess, I am planning on the RnY. My doc already submitted my letter for approval from ins. I am just waiting on them now. I was told by my insurance though that it should be pretty quick for response time and that they approve usually on the first request, so that makes me feel better. Which are you planning on as far as surgeries go? Steph

I'm having the Lap Band. I was unsure for a long time. But after talking to my surgeon we agreed the Lap Band would be better for me. Oh I hope you get your approval soon!! My approval was alot quicker than I had thought it would be. Hopefully I will get my surgery date next week. I mailed my deposit Friday. Jess

I decided Iam going to call the ins. on Monday just to make sure that they did actually recieve my letter of request for approval. If they havent then I will call the Doc. Then I guess I will just wait a little while longer to see what is going on, never know maybe I will learn something when I call on Monday. I hoe your surgery date is really soon for you. Have you already finished all your preop testing? or is that the next step? Steph

I still have to do pre-op testing. I think it's a week or 2 before surgery. But I'm not for sure. I didn't have to do a psych eval though. Yeah i would call the ins company. When I called I found out that my letter was just sitting there. They needed to forward it on the the pre-determination department. So the guy did it. And I was approved the next week! GL! Well I heard from Dot the coordinator today. She's leaving town tomorrow and won't be bac****il the 22nd. She said she scheduling into Dec already. And asked when would be best for mine. She has 15 people ahead of me to be scheduled! So I'm probably looking at the end of Dec or beg of Jan. What a bummer. I guess there's still hope for early Dec. Maybe all those others want late Dec! I can only hope! If I have to wait till Jan that will be alright. Then DH can take time off no problem. Well that's my update. Jess
