HELLO EVERYONE!!!

Hi am new to message board...been a member here for a month, looking up all kinds of info,seeing all the amazing success stories!! I am currently waiting for my insurance, medicaid, to accept my plea for help, looking good so far, they havent refused me!!! I called my dr. today and they've been sitting on a need more info since the 25th of last month. Grrrrrrrrrr So that means I have to keep on their butt to get this done!! I've never wanted to be a LOSER so much in my life!! I'm hopeing for the RNY..I think that one would be the best for me. I would be interested in any and all help, info, encouragemet...whatever I can get!!!! Thanks Soooo Much!!!

Hi there Lori!!! Glad you decided to post. I too am trying to get this surgery done. I have my first appt with the surgeon this Friday. My appt for yesterday didnt happen since he was tied up a little longer in surgery than he thought, but that is ok, I can wait a few more days. Well maybe we can help each other through this process. Hi Steph!! Am sorry to hear that the appointment didn't happen yesterday...but at least you were able to get in the same week !!!! Am soooo excited for you!! I keep thinking if i can just get this approval....I'd jump thru hoops..even tho that would be quite a sight !!! LOL !!! It would be wonderful to go thru this all together !! Welcome Lori! Waiting for approval is the worst! I'm a very impatient person though! During my approval time I kept very busy. I went for a week to visit my family and then we also took a family vacation in there too. Sure helped time fly by! I'm just waiting for my surgery date. I'm having the Lap band done. Hi Jess!! Thank you for the welcome!! I too , am an impatient person....and I keep thinking of all I still have to do..from everything I've learned on here there's quite a bit....thankfully i've already been on a doctor supervised diet for over 6 months. Keep hearing about a psyc-val. I guess all they'll learn from that is ...this weight is driving me nutz!! LOL!! I'm hopeing with the holidays comming up I will stay busy and the time will pass quickly. How can you stand it?? OMG...I'd be like ....anyday now!! Which I hope it is for you!! Keep me posted!! Hi Lori, Welcome to the group. Congratulations on your decision to have surgery. The approval phase is such an aggravating process to go through. Hang tough and you will make it. I had the banding and I love it. I feel wonderful. The Rny is a good surgery too. We look forward to seeing you on the losing side. Mona

Hi Mona, thank you for the welcome!! It was a tuff decision to make... It kinda scared me, especially at my age, 45, but then I thought of all I am missing out on. So I took a deeep breathe and asked my doctor about it and am now waiting on approval. And waiting!! I'm soo happy that it all went well for you!! I've heard a couple horror stories, but the good definatly out weighs the bad!!! I have a feeling this message board is going to be a life-line for me ( maybe I should say a sanity-line )!!
