stomach cramps

I had my RNY on 9/19/05. My problem is that I am having stomach cramps whenever I drink anything. I've posted before about this problem and it's obviously not resolved. My doctor tells me to continue taking my Carafate to coat my stomach, but that doesn't work anymore. He thinks I may have an ulcer. Anyone else going through the same thing? Denise

It sounds like it could be an ulcer. You may need an EGD to determine if you have an ulcer or not. I had one a year ago when I couldn't eat or drink anything without pain. The final straw when I knew something was wrong was when I threw up on a swallow of water. I had an EGD and they found an ulcer. I took 2 a day Nexium for 2 months and it was healed. Check with your doctor about this as a possibilty. Debbie 319/185/135

Denise, Im so sorry to hear you are still having problems.I have heard of people who have to try a number of differant meds before they find the one that does the trick. I hope you get this resolved soon so you can start enjoying your weightloss. FYI, your surgery mate Liz, has been back in the hospital for the past week. Hang in there..Jeanb
