Are there any support groups in Nebraska- closer to Kearney?

Hello! I have just moved to Kearney, NE from Colorado Springs! I had Gastric Bypass Surgery on 2/9/05. In Colorado Springs they had a huge support group that was really helpfull to go to. I was wondering if there is any such thing like that in Kearney or somewhere close to that? If not- is anyone interested in starting one? Also, does anyone know of a good Gastric Bypass surgeon in Kearney? Please let me know! It is fun to have the support and to get to know people that may go through the same things that you are!

Hi Tammy, Welcome to the group. I don't know of any groups in Kearney. North Platte has a wonderful support group. I also think Grand Island has a group. Contact the hospital there and they can give you information. If all else fails, you can always lean on us. Mona

Hi Mona! Thank you very much for responding to my question! I appreciate you taking the time to do so. Is there anyway that you might know the name of those hospitals in North Platte and Grand Island where you think that the support groups are held? If so, that would be of help to me in order to get the phone numbers to them! I thank you for allowing me to lean on you- you know sometimes you just need a little support! Although, I really do feel good about the decision I made with having this surgery! My life has never been better, and I feel so much better to.
