I am finally approved After my 2nd appeal request-NE State Medicaid!!

Finally! After 2 denials, and months of waiting, NEBRASKA STATE MEDICAID finally approved me! Can you believe it? I never thought MEDICAID would ever approve! They didn't approve me until after my 2nd appeal letter but now it has just begun! I feel excited but at the same time, nervous and scared! Where do I go from here. What do I need to stock up on or buy before I go to surgery? How long will I be in the hospital?...So many questions...It is hard for me knowing I will have to rely on other people while I am in recovery. I am usually the one who takes care of the bills and everything else (laundry, dinners etc)...It is very difficult for me to let go and let someone else take charge for a minute, you know?

Well I'm still pre-op so I can't help with the supplies etc. But I wanted to say Congrats!! I hope the day comes quickly for you! And you have a speedy recovery! ~Jess~

Hi Julie! I just wanted to Congratulate you on your Approval!! I know how frustrating the "waiting game" was for me, and I was approved on my first try! I can't imagine having to wait as long has you have! I don't have any advice to give you to help you to stock up for your diet, as I have a lap band, and I'm sure the post-op requirements probably vary a bit. I would reccomend checking on the DS board though. I'm sure they will have some great reccommendations for you. Keep us posted on your progress! Best wishes to you on your journey! Hugs Tammie
