I would like to know howI get my mom to not to be so scared for my surgery..she is battling breast cancer.she is having a masectomy next week and when she were discussing her procedure she brings up my surgery,,she says she dont want to bury another child (we lost my bro 19yrs ago) not wls related tho.. I just want her to concentrate on her getting better and not on me.. she asked me if I was still gonna do it and I said yes I am.. so if u know of some good websites to read on wls or any other suggestions please let me know.. she is the bestest mom and friend to any and all... Hi Jean, You need to attend a support group in your area. Maybe she can see the successes with WLS she will feel better. No surgery is risk free. She can also talk to your surgeon and he can give her some facts about his complication rate. Also having the surgery laparascopically will be easier to recover from. She can also read profiles from this website. WLS has saved a lot of lives by getting rid of many diseases related to obesity. Hope this helps. Mona

Jean, I totallly agree. Take your Mom to a support meeting. We don't have them here or anywhere near O'Neill. I have great support from my family. I don't have my mother anymore and I know how precious they are. Keep her involved with all aspects of the surgery and she will be with you all the way. Rhonda 312/209/155?
