Insurance denied me

I live in OK but have BCBS of NE. I've just received my first letter and was denied. I'm going to appeal. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get approval the second time. I'm trying to have the adj. band. Please help.

Sorry to hear that. I also have BCBS of Ne, but haven't submitted anything yet. I go Aug 19th for my consultation with Dr Hung in Lincoln and then he will submitt a letter. Does the insurance company give you the reasons for denial?? I hope your appeal goes through...I hope and pray that they will approve me for the lap band. Heidi [email protected]

I too also have BCBS of NE and I just sent my paper work in a week ago so I don't know anything yet. How long did it take you to get the letter? I hope to hear everything goes go for you. Misty

Nebraska has several different BCBS policies. It depends on which one you have. I had BCBS-ppo with the university of nebraska and there is an exclusion. I appealed twice but to no avail. When you get a date for the second appeal you have the right to be there or at least represented. Email me personally and I will send you a copy of my appeal letter or go to the main board and ask for help on the second appeal. Good Luck Linda
