I have a date
Whoa- is my heart pounding.
My date is set for June 15th- my May was so busy I just couldn't fit it all in. It seems so far away- but I know how fast time goes around here. Dr. White's office (especially Roxie) has been very helpful in getting the date I wanted and all my apoointments set.
Now I just have to tell my parents

Congratulations on the date! I had my lap band placed by Dr. White last September. He is a fantastic surgeon and you will do fine! The best advice I can give you is to join some band forums. The one here on OH is great. I read it all the time. Also I belong to a forum for extraordinary bandster which is for people with BMI's over 50. The key thing I find among all the boards is you have to follow the bandster rules in order to be successful. I have not been the star bandster and so have not been as successful as some, but I still consider myself a success. I am retraining myself right now to follow the rules better so I can start losing easier. So far I have lost 45 pounds. So I'm almost a third of the way to goal for me.
There is tons and tons of info on the web about the lap band. I find that reading info from others that are going through it is most helpful. This is a web site address for a veteran bandster who has done terrific. (replace the spaces with.)

I hope to meet you sometime at a support meeting for Dr. White or we may run into each other at a fill session sometime. PS I understand about telling your parents. That was the hardest part for me. I have still not told people I work with. It is my body, my decision, my business. I don't need them poking their nose where it doesn't belong. But I had to tell my family and it was hard for me to admit I needed the help. They were all very supportive though, because they love me. I'm sure you will find your family is the same.
