Obesity Help in Denver....

Nebraska WLS. There's going to be a one day conference in Denver the first part of July I hope as many Nebraskans go as possible. There will be speakers and information galore! The National Converntion I attended in Oct was fantastic! If any of you would like me to come to your support group meetings please just let me know. I was trained as a Chapter Leader and want to help start new groups and visit the established ones.I am going to Imperial the 21st to start one there. Maybe I have learned new things that I could share with you. I hope to have a Nebraska get together this summer....something like a picnic with our families. I would be interested in even making it a two day with Saturday being a learning session and then sunday close with a picnic. Hi Beth ... Yes I would be interested in going to Denver and also my hubby who just had WLS March 2nd. I would need to know what the dates are so I can be sure and take those days off from work. Unfortunately I don't very often get to support group meetings becuz I have odd working hours. I just posted on this board to see how many people are interested in a picnic or get to gether in Neb also!! ... Now if we can just get it organized "smile" ... Sue

I will recheck the dates but i think it's the weekend of July 8th. How is he doing?? Are there good groups there...i would even come there to help if needed. I'm an organizer so lets get started...you and I can pick a date and go from there...send me your phone number and i will call you. Beth

Beth, It sounds like a great opportunity to get together with other wls patients and families. Kenny and I are planning on coming. There is also a support group that meets in Scottsbluff on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month. Anyone near the scottsbluff area are invited to come. If anyone is interested in coming let me know. Beth, I shared this announcement on the 50s board and a gal from the Denver area would like to know who to contact to find out more info on it. We are having a federal review at work in July and were told no vacations then, but I may try to go to it. Let us know if there is a Kansas City one planned anytime..JeanB

Jean, If its the Ne get together your talking about, anyone can contact me with ideas or questions. I dont know too much as of yet but I think we are going have here in North Platte as this is just about in the middle of the state and we're right on I-80.

Jean, actually she can contact me as I just talked to Monica one of the lead persons from Ca, she is one that's planning the whole thing and I can direct any questions her way or if she wants to help on the Dnver end Monica would appreciate it. Its a one day conference and it will be July 9th, a Saturday. Dont know the location as of yet just the date. Beth
