Surgery Waiting List

Is it true that there is a 1 year waiting list for some of the hospitals in Omaha,Like University of Nebraska Medical Center,Creighton University,METHODIST HOSPITAL,Thats what someone emailed me & said. I hope thats not the case. Laterz Janelle

Janelle, I had lap rny in Grand Island with Dr John Goering. He is wonderful. He has a whole program for gastric bypass. I had surgery within a few days of insurance approval. I went on a Friday for preop tests and had surgery the next Tuesday, home on Thursday. Email me if you want and I will tell all. Rhonda

After getting appoval last Feb, I could have scheduled my appointment for May 31st. I waited til Jun 21st for personal reasons though. I guess it just depends on the surgeon and demand. Cathy -107

Janelle, I went from the informational meeting in Feb of 04 to having surgery the end of July. I hope you dont have to wait that long, JeanB

I also had Dr Goering in Grand Island Ne and it took about a month for approval by insurance and to get everything ready. I was also told it sometimes takes 3 to 6 months to get a surgery date with Lincoln and Omaha Drs. but I don't think that's true. You just have to get ahold of some Drs offices and ask them ... Sue

I just wanted to add that you might want to check out the seminar for Dr Sudan in Omaha the details are on my rely to Robert. Dr Sudan is from Crieghton. There is also Dr Mcbride she is from UNMC.

Absolutely not true, in my experience. I had my date within 2 weeks of completion of presurgical tests at UNMC. Ruth
