Hello Folks, I usually post on the main board, but I thought I'd come here and see what's going on. I have a possible job opportunity that would have me moving from sunny Arizona where I love it to Omaha, NE. I have never been to Nebraska and frankly don't know what to do. It's a great company and the position is like it was made just for me. So, what I want is some positive great news about life in Omaha and Nebraska in general. I like the great outdoors and do a alot of hiking and camping (especially since losing 111.5 lbs!) and i would like to know I could still do those things in the great state of NE. thanks -=db=-

Well right now I would rather be in sunny AZ!! Winter in Neb isn't real appealing I don't live in Omaha I live in the middle of the state. I do get the Omaha Newspaper and there seems to be a lot of fun things to do in the big city !! We have had a bad drought thro out the state so a lot of the camping area's especailly in the middle and western part of the state have dryed up a lot!!. I'm sure there are hiking areas around Omaha and I know there are some great camping areas too. I checked out your profile and you look great. Looks like you were very active even before losing the weight !! Don't know if this helps ya much but your welcome to come to the Husker state !! ... Sue

DeeBee, The state of Nebraska is full of old railroad lines that have been turned into hiking and biking trails. Omaha is a great city if you get involved with the community it is like most places, it gives you back what you put into it. I love this state, I do have a hard time with some of the politics in the state, its very red, and I'm very blue, but I must say that even in politics the people of Nebraska are kind to eachother. I don't think I will ever live anywhere else. Chris in Southeast NE

Hello DB, Omaha is a great place to live. Always something to do. If you don't like the weather we are having, don't worry, it will change in 10 minutes. LOL! I am not really an outdoorsy sort of person, but I do know that near and around Omaha there are some great state parks. We also have trails through the city that are enjoyed by many. http://travel.yahoo.com/p-travelguide-2829804-omaha_things_to_do-i You can check out some things to do! Let us know if you join us!
