Hey Nick tell us your secrets (or not secrets) on how you're losing all this weight. How much protein do you have each day?? Do you eat all your protein now, or do you still drink a protein drink every day ?? How much excercise do you do everyday and what kind ?? How much food do you eat at each meal 1/4 Cup 1/2 Cup 1 Cup ??? What types of food do you eat and do you have snacks between meals? How much water do you get in everyday ?? I'm trying to figure out if I'm doing something wrong or if my body is just different than most and doesn't let loose of the weight as easly as other people. I'm down 60 lbs and will be 6 months out on the 21st. I'm concerned I'm doing something wrong or I'm just one of the unfortunate people who just isn't going to make it to my goal. I am greatful that I have lost what I have but would like to atleast get down another 50 lbs. Oh and another question did your weight loss slow down after the first 6 months ?

I think you are losing very well! Remember: men tend to lose weight faster in general and the heavier you are, the faster it SEEMS you are losing (if you are going to compare, compare % of weight -- not lbs). jayme

Sue, Men do seem to loose weight faster than women do. I also had a lot more weight to loose than you do. The more weight that you have to loose the faster it will drop. I don't think that 60 pounds in the first six months is anything to complain about at all. Especially if you had like 100 lbs. to loose. I had like 250 lbs to loose. As far as protein I push for 75-100 grams per day. I try to eat all of my protein, but still sometimes drink a shake. I just remember when I eat that the more protein that I eat the longer that it will take me to get hungry again. If I eat a lot of carbs it is like I am starving again in a short amount of time. I exercise about 4 days a week--walking, jogging, lifting weights, playing golf (well not right now it is to cold). As far as food I eat I just try to stick to low fat and low carbs--no sugar, no pop. I do have snacks between meals sometimes-either a banana, sugar free jello, or a sugar free pudding-and I stick to these choices. Water or low calorie fluids-i.e. crystal light or sugar free kool aid, or propel ftness water. At least 70-100 ozs a day. I don't drink for at least 1 hour after I eat. The longer that you wait to drink, the longer it will take for you to get hungry again. Just remember that just because this is working for me, doesn't mean that it will work for you. Everyone is different. Have you ever read the pouch rules for dummies?? It has a lot of great tips in it. Here is the link. http://www.wlsfriends.com/pouchrules.html Good Luck. Nick

Yes I think you had pouch rules for dummies on another post and I read it. Thanks.. I guess I'm doing things ok ... It will just take me a little longer than everyone else. I'm not sure how to figure percentages. I started at 311 and would like to get down to about 175 so that's about 136 lbs. So 60lbs lost would be less than 50 percent lost. Your right tho I could never have lost this much in 6 months without the surgery and I am happy to have this much off. Thanks for answering my questions... Sue
