Sue, I lost weight very fast, and sometimes I wonder if I would've lost slower, I wouldn't have all of this extra skin. I don't know, maybe it would've shrunk better. I've been maintaining my weight for several months now, and have not had too hard of a time at it. They say it gets harder at the two year mark. The smaller clothes are great fun, I love wearing new stuff, but most of mine come from thrift stores. I have no idea what size I am. I can wear anything from a 8 to a 12, and a new suit I bought at Talbots was a size 6. I spent more on that suit than I have on anything I've boughten for myself in years, now I cant gain anymore back. I can't seem to own enough coats, I keep buying coats at thrift stores. Your doin great, keep it up. Chris in Beatrice 305/150

wow a size 6?? I just can't imagine wearing cloths that small!! So nice to hear from experience .... I saw my Dr today. At first he seemed a little disappointed that I wasn't down more. Then I told him I wasn't quite 5 months out. He said well thats a different story I thought you were 6 months out. It seems the ofc staff just counted out from july to Dec ( 6 months) but I won't be 6 months out until Jan 21st. I don't think how fast you loss has anything to do with your skin shrinking. I have flabby arms flabby stomach and upper thighs and this ugly turkey waddle under my chin already!!! I keep telling myself it's better than the bulges and double chin. .. Thanks for posting !! .. Love to brag! Lost 42 in 10 weeks. Open BPD/DS on 10-5-2004 Highest weight 300 5ft 9" Pre-op weight 288 Today 246 Goal 150 It really doesn't matter if you lose slower...a plastic surgeon told me that once your skin is stretched, it won't go back, so don't worry about that! Today, I am able to wear a nice size 20 red velvety shirt for a Christmas party. I was wearing 24-26 before! yippeeee.. I also think my loss is slower. I eat too many carbs, and don't exercise enough, so I need to get in gear! Sheryl Omaha

I'm not quite into a 22 size yet. I can get into them but I don't feel comfortable. I know it's hard sometimes to get motivated into excercising! I was walking five days a week on all my breaks at work ( about 10 or 12 mins each) but since the cooler weather I haven't done it as much. I really don't have any excuse I do have a treadmill I could be using. Thanks for posting ... Sue

Surgery date - May 17, 2004 surgery type - RNY Lap starting weight - 314 pounds lost - 111 present weight - 203 goal - 125 I am down from a 32W or 5X to size 16 - 18! I am so grateful for all that I have lost. I have become discouraged this last month. (I think it is the stress). I am working on getting refocused. I never could have done this without the surgery.

You're doing so great ! Stress can really mess ya up so I understand completely. Try to relax or maybe excercise will help with the stress too. Walking outside gives ya time to think! Thanks for posting ! .. Sue

I'm doing good! I don't know if I've lost any pounds but it looks like I lost about 1/2" in my stomach and hips this week. 11/08/04 402 lbs 5' 9 1/2" surgery 11/15 392 surgery type RNY- lap current: 366 total lost 36 goal: 180 I just can't even wait until I can fit into my 26 jeans again! As for loose skin. I lost from 343 to 204 a couple years ago and I had absolutely NO loose skin. I know there are alot of variables. They say if you drink alot of water and exercise you have a better chance of less loose skin.
